Downloaded and tried a few mins. Some thoughts.
- The requirements are definitely bloated. My laptop 1060 (max Q even) is able to do 1080p/60 FPS at the "High" preset. Granted I only did the first 15 minutes, went through the first combat arena etc. There were some drops at the start of the first 'open' area but I imagine those can very easily be ironed out by some settings management.
- The game has a dynamic resolution scaling option but it doesn't exactly work that well. Enabling it makes the game run at lower resolutions more often than they should and makes it look more blurry as a result.
I ran the game at 1440p with scaler on to target 60 FPS, the game has very extensive performance metrics. It showed that at 1440p, the game was routinely dropping to 58~60% of 1440p. Which is give or take around ~900p. This was me standing still in an open area with volumetrics etc. I turned off dynamic scaling and ran the game at native 1080p and it ran the same zones without dropping a single frame from 60.
Not sure what's going on there but the dynamic scaling is way too aggressive for it's own good.
I tested all this without the game ready drivers, so who knows things might be different when I try with the appropriate drivers.
