How do you feel about DLCs?

Down-loadable Content or DLC as we know it have been out for a long time now in gaming. It refers to down-loadable add-ons to games like new maps or characters.You need an internet connection on your system and then you can pay for extra things in games. The Xbox 360, PS3 and PC are offering from full games to parts,episodes and expansions for download right onto the system.

But the main issue with which I am concerned here is that for both legit and non-legit buyers its a big hassle. You get a game and if you like it, you finish it asap only to find out that the story and action is still incomplete, you will have to wait more and pay more to find out more, because mostly it isn't free. Most gamers can't play most DLCs as they are online-only and never come on disc. Gone are the days when you just pop in a game, finish it, move to the next game or wait for a proper sequel. Because for me its a less than half game and the developers just try to juice the game for what it should have been in the first place.

I hate em'.

But Love 'em or Hate 'em ... DLCs are here to stay, so what do you guys say?

There should be a mixed or neutral option as well. As you have mentioned in there the platforms. Which for most like PS3(at times rarely) and PC can be available for free. As far as the 360 is concerned they consolers do hate them as they are PAID!

So for me I love em for PC.

For 360 Hate em for sure.

They're usually stuff that should have been included in the game anyway. I say they're crap; most of the time. There are some exceptions. The Joker DLC for Batman:AA was fun and free, and BFBC2 has new maps and stuff for the game from time to time, again free with the VIP code.

I like the VIP code system waisey. Free DLCs for people who buy the game brand new, but paid for those guys who buy the game second-hand.

360 DLC: I absolutely hate, since there's no one I can get it and I can't Jtag my console as well.
PS3 DLC: I like it but that depends if the games region is 1. Damn DLC region lock.

exceptions can be made and VIP system might be good but now foe everyone...so i assume you dont like 'em...

i maybe inclined more towards the hate... but DLC is a curse in disguise...
by the way...all this might be triggered in me cux of Alan Wake's DLC :D

i fkin hate dlcs. missed so many good parts. Like 'lost in nightmares' and the other re5 dlc. Also the pop'08 dlc. and many others...

Gamers have a love/hate relationship with DLC which is totally justified. DLC can reach the pinnacle like GTA: Episodes From Liberty City or dive into the abyss i.e. Horse Armor for Oblivion. Free DLC ftw.

Many games come with DLC on disc. games like, Oblivion, Fallout, LBP goty, AC complete edition, GTA episodes etc.
