@k3yser hi. i want to know why the speed of torrents is so low? its like half the normal connection speed. is there any workaround to this issue? and also pls share how to use Youtube here on connect with full speed. i have been using Zen for some time with shitty PTCL when it used to work. but again i see on connect the speed is like half when zen is on. can some one assist?

Use a proxy site for browsing utube. Its not the most userfriendly thing but its enough for viewing trailers etc. If you have IDM on then you can download vids watch em later.

Obviously the quality of service has deteriorated severely at least in my area. Add to that the fact theres continous power outages, extra load due to summer vacations and you can forget using internet in peace... atleast on the weekend.

For youtube: check pm

For Torrents: run your torrents after 2-3am at night and till 11-12 in morning. Rest of the day you will get the reduced speeds no matter what you do. In offpeak hours mine touches 600kbps sometimes.

I called their customer support and they gave two numbers and they both were fake + their all numbers mentioned on their site are fake so please can you give me proper number of them.

why u may ask? well, why would u need internet at ur home?
simple answer, to browser internet, use social media (facebook, twitter, instagram, etc), to watch youtube videos and to download torrents.

now, being Pakistanis as we all are, our most common use would be to use internet for Youtube and download torrents, LOTS OF THEM, right?

now the connect people being Pakistanis, have a catch in their service which they will not share and hide if u call them for a new connection (at least they didnt tell me that, i have call record with me!)
the catch is they offer only 25% of ur package, be it any package if u use Proxy (to watch youtube, use Hotspot shield, or use extensions like Zen) and that makes watching youtube IMPOSSIBLE IN 360p!!!! YES 3FREAKING60p QUALITY, sans 720p or 1080p!!! NOW thats defintely FUCKED UP policy, ain't it???

and the same mind shizzing policy applies to torrents other than their 3rd class DODEAR service where nothing is available in higher than 240p quality. there are only few movies in 360p. songs are available in 192kbps i think...

so all in all everything is in the lowest possible quality.

yes u get the maximum speed of ur connection IF u download ONLY from this DODEAR portal. other wise, if u prefer QUALITY (like my self and many many here im sure) and u for instance want to watch a Full HD movie, from say, PIRATEBAY, the maximum speed u will get on a 4Mbps connection is 120-140kbps EVEN AT THE PRIME TIMES 2am to 12 am next morning.

and YES i have tested that last night, i was so happy.

i had issues with PTCL yall know i guess, and i just got my connection cut from ptcl, got connect connection was told that u will get full speed on all torrents and youtube can be watched at 1080p and other shiz. but last night when i started a very very healthy torrent with 4:1 ratio from piratebay just to experiment the speed, the maximum speed i got was 122kbps! i was like WTFFFFFFFFF!!!!

so whats the output,

1. DONT GET CONNECT if ur primary internet use is YOUTUBE, THECIVE , and torrent downloading
2. DONT GET CONNECT if u want peace of mind, i got connection 2 days back and i have already faced more than 29 hours of disconnectivity, i purchased a brand new TP Link router as told by my local dealer. he said give router to me and i will configure it for u, cause i was in a hurry. i bought the router gave that to him and its third day started now he LITERALLY VANISHED! i have tried his number , i went to his home, i complained their UAN no, i have emailed to their support email but NO ONE HAS BOTHERED TO REPLY ME!! NO ONE!!
3. DONT GET CONNECT cause i can TESTIFY they are worst than PTCL!
4. and above all, NEVER TRUST PAKISTANIS! Commitment nam ki cheez yahan pai hi nae jati!

baki ap ki apni marzi!
but mery khyal me jub apko proxy ki limit he, torrents ki limit he, service disconnect ho to fir Allah jany kab thek ho, light na ho to mazy karo NO BACKUP or UPS or Generator or any shiz, to fir esa connection chahy free me b ho to me nae lon ga.

i will disconnect my Connect service next month.

i have huge craze for internet. its part of my life for the past at least 12+ years. i have used almost all the FAMOUS ISPs of pakistan. connect was the last one and let me make it clear to u, THEY ARE ALL SHIT! PLAIN SHIT!

now, unless u live in Gulberg, or Defence or Clifton, or if ur house if very very close to the ISP's main office, u will face problems, surely sometime.
after all my experience and looking at the plain reluctance to commit and work as professionals, which is a very common instinct of pakistanis, i found PTCL to be the MOST reliable among all.
wo kehty hn na, "ANDHON ME KANAA RAJA!!" wo wali bat he...

i will suggest u to get PTCL connection. aj kal unki kafi offers i hoi hn. saalo ki phat rahi he na ye 3G 4G ka jo JHOTA drama banaya hoa he na us sy.
get 2 Mbps or if u want good speeds 4 Mbps. but make sure k wo Wire New use karen or us me koi 1 bhe JOR na ho, u know JOR? Cut??

Ptcl only works well in areas with good telephone infrastructure. .otherwise they are worse than any other ISP in Pakistan..atleast connect wallay in my area solve complaints within 1-2 days..ptcl is just plain bad here..no response on complaints and issues whatsoever. .connect is very good but the only problem is the reduced speed on torrents

My experience with connect was very bad only because of my dealer's incompetence in maintaining the switches properly. Also packet losses was horrible.

^^ I dont know about your area but in PECHS a lot of good people (technicians line-men etc) have left Connect. Result is chaos ranging from downtime stretching to 2-3 days to frequent DCs and low speeds.

And on a general note people, never EVER let any Connectwala know you are running wifi thru an independent router in your home. They will refuse to accept any responsibility and instead blame your setup. Shove the wire directly in your laptop if needed!
