it has leechers in hundreds and seeders wont even increase to 5 , so getting no speed :(
I downloaded P7 stuff from that same torrent just a few days back. Speed was slow but sometimes speed went up to 300-400kbps. Got it downloaded in 3-4 days.

Please reply soon, i dont think the online test's link would last long... Thanks..

I did the test. Fucked it up I think atleast because I was surrounded by a gazillion people when I opened it for some reason I thought it would be fun to do it that way. sadness.

Anyway the test was pretty simple the first part is a comprehension they give you a passage and ask you to answer a series of questions the first 6 are based on the first comprehension the next 6 are based on another if you concentrate I think you can score well.

The next 30 are basically IQ much more simpler keep wikipedia/google at hand while attempting this one and IA you ll score well. Oh and do look up some IQ stuff because they have those weird image thingies which is I believe a very biased way of testing someones IQ but my opinion doesn't really matter so bah.

Anyway good luck mate.

Thanks for the info mate...
Was the test timed? if yes, how much was given?
Secondly, those comprehension questions, were they true / false or were there some short / long answers too?

Just open the link they gave you. The test won't start right away there are instructions given right before it and you don't have to start until you are ready. The questions are all MCQs the timing you ll have to check yourself I think it was 25 and 15 minutes for the two sections.

Did the test finally...

The part 1 which was Verbal Reasoning was relatively difficult. As haider said, 2 comprehensions with 6 questions each came up, with a total of 25 minutes for them. The comprehensions were difficult and so were the questions (atleast they appeared difficult to me). I really had some trouble answering them... :/

Second part, iq questions were relatively simple but the problem here was the time. 30 questions to be answered withing 15 minutes... but most of them were relatively straight forward.. i think i was only able to attempt 28 of them withing the time :p

Got the interview call...
any tips?
Congratulations man. I didn't get the call I guess I messed up the test pretty bad.

You should look up financial management basics and brush up on your accounting knowledge as a whole. When is the interview?

Its more important to be confident. Stand your ground and you should be fine. A fuck you attitude works well for me but thats because I don't start throwing insults when I'm pissed e.g. in one of the interviews the guy asked me what reasonable assurance meant. I told him and he asked for a better explanation I again explained it to him after that he asked for a more "simpler" explanation so I just asked him to get me a paper and a pencil so that I could write it down for him. lol right? But it worked because I cleared that interview.

wow! long time no see in this thread!

well saad and hammad, im really sorry to hear about your results. its honestly unbelievable to hear that talents like yourselves couldnt get through....man the checking must be REALLY tight.
but hammad...bro u shouldnt give up...now that uve already given it once, u probably wont incur all the lag time in catching up with the flow of the project.
DO give it another go. InshaAllaah ull pass.

well due to my average marks, if i pass my BSC OBU project sometime in the future sometime, ill be eligible for a 2:2 BSc... i know, doesnt sound that great...it wont help me with 'getting' any jobs...but it sure will act as a factor leading to a pay rise.. so a 1:1 bsc would be GREAT for you!

@saadi939... CONGRATS on the interview bro! so how'd it go?
did their mouths fall open when u told them your age? :p

when i joined my ex-firm, my seniors told me "yar tumharay toh abi khailne k din hain, audit firm mai aa k kya kar rahay ho?!" lol
you are even younger than me MashaAllaah.. gotta hear the comments you get.

and hey @alamode... i did some research and found out that PwC sold its Global consulting business (PwC consulting) to IBM in 2003 due to the passing of sarbanes oxley ..
so does A.F. Ferguson & Co. Consulting operate under the name of 'PwC consulting'? if yes, then why?
as far as i know, AbacusConsulting represented PwC consulting in Pak up till 2003...then it seperated to operate independently after the sale of PwC consulting to IBM. ... i couldnt dig up any history after that.
do you have any knowledge on this matter?

Hmm, thats the first ive heard of that though :D.. But anyway, AFFerguson and PwC are different entities. You should checkup the history of AFF. AFF was a firm before the time Pak/India was created. After partition, the indian firm kept operating as AFF and over here in Pakistan we have AFF. So there are 2 AFFs, so if you search about it, you'll find one AFF in india too. I think after some time, the pakistani AFF registered with PwC. So now our AFF is a "member firm" of PwC. Its not like a branch of PwC (like EY is more like a branch).

So anyway, point being, i dont think it matters what businesses AFF is doing.. It is a separate entity from PwC.. They just have a license to be called a member firm and they have to comply with some stuff i guess to keep that license.

well it wasnt much like what i planned... To have the worst start, I got there late because of some stupid "visiting pass" procedure in their building :\
it was kind of a too short. i guess it only lasted for like 15 minutes. they didnt ask ANY technical questions other than "What is equity (in terms of brokerage services)", i was expecting more of them - spent quite a time refreshing all the knowledge beforehand. they just kept asking normal interview questions like my strengths, weaknesses, what do i know about their company, why do i want to join it etc etc..
well yea one of the four interviewers present asked quite a lot of questions about my age :p, like how did i do it, why did i start acca right after matric, and then he started counting my age year by year after matric :p
they asked me after the interview if i am now eligible to vote ... and who am i going to vote... and "why" .. felt pretty awkward there :|

Good thing the topic came up, i am very curious in knowing about how this licensing actually works. like if a firm wants to be a member of another (popularly big4) what actually happens? and how does this benefit both the entities?
Can you please enlighten me there :)

Yes sir im aware of all the A.F. Ferguson history. and i know how all the member firms are complete separate entities from the accountancy network that they are a member of.
Well yes that makes sense. A.F. Ferguson provides consultancy services under its own name...not under PwC Consulting.
Now that i think of it, it never mentioned that AbacusConsulting 'represented' PwC consulting...it said that it 'merged' with it...maybe the PwC consulting business has no member firms.
anyways, dude could you tell me very briefly about the consulting exit opportunities?
i know audit can lead to jobs in finance like finance managers, FC, FD or CFO etc etc.

What does consultancy lead too?
the idea of this consultancy and the vast services under it interests me ALOT!

audit might be the same thing again and again... Go to client>verify FS>Make audited FS>Get the danda from the manager>Get the report signed.
although it can get tiring, its worth it in the end.

i really like auditing, but i read and hear that manyyyy ppl shifted from audit to consultancy and they couldnt have been happier with the change. is it interesting? i know it is in high demand.. Audit is statutory and has to be done but THIS...consultancy can be oxygen for organizations.

well it wasnt much like what i planned... To have the worst start, I got there late because of some stupid "visiting pass" procedure in their building :\

politics?! lol
well, how many other candidates were there?
yes well i hear even Big4 dont ask you any technical questions anymore...ull learn this stuff in your training...afterall they are inducting you for your 'TRAINING' and not the job...they focus on weather you are the right person with the right attitude and capabilities for the job.
Hope you get it.
