Thanks for such an in-depth response, haider.

Yeah, I suppose I am worrying too much too early.

For the time being, I should focus on clearing the Skills module and perhaps engage in a few extras, like learning accountancy software like SAP, to add to the CV and perhaps strive to get a few internships on the way to qualification.

I would like to move abroad but at what point and where exactly, that still remains a mystery. Only time will tell, I suppose.

PS: I also plan to take papers P6 and P7 as I plan to have a go at the ICAEW at some point myself.
I wish you the best. And yeah you should get some internships under your belt that would be excellent. The problem which most ACCA students face these days is that they know their shit but are not able to get the message across. Doing internships would help you with that.
alamode Are you currently working in advisory? Do you think it is a matter of choice the employer leaves to us or do we just get everything thrown at us?

Yes i am.

Well if they state that they are specifically inducting for "transaction advisory" or "Financial Advisory" then ofcourse you will be in that department.

Check the PM i sent

And well if EY haven't mentioned it, You should mention which department you want to work in, while you are giving the interview. You should make it clear that you don't want to do Audit and want to be in transaction advisory or whichever department you want to be in but be sure you do enough research about that department because you don't want to be stuck in the wrong department for the next 3.5 years.

Thanks mate. What would you recommend is better, a position in advisory or a management trainee position at KESC ? ( In CFAs context )

Which advisory? If it's transaction advisory they yeah go for it if you want to make a career based on CFA. If it's not transaction advisory or financial advisory, then it isnt linked to CFA so it doesnt matter if you go to EY or KESC.

Btw try in some brokerage firms like Elixir Securities and Asset Management Company's of different banks if you want to make a career based on CFA. Why are you going into an accounting firm?

I did apply there but sadly I didn't get any response from them. I did however start an internship in Arif Habib Commodities but that place is too unprofessional for me.
Khair lets see, still waiting for a call. Anyway thanks for your input.

Keep trying, but usually they require CFA Level 1 passed

That's a nice find. I think this is a good position for those interested in pursuing CFA. I wish they had put up this last year. Now I have to work in Risk Advisory of a Big4 firm for two more years.
I dont think they will give you a ICAP contract, because i dont think they are registered with ICAP though.

Try to do lots of question practice. Book reading and knowledge (though necessary) wont be helping you much in passing the exam, the real deal would be the question tackling skills. What to answer and how to answer!!!

-------------

Any p7 expert here?
I am taking video lectures of a LSBF tutor (downloaded them). But they are of 2008 attempt. Can anyone guide me on how much the paper has changed since then? Or if there is any change at all?

Alan wake 2 is yet to recover it's development costs. Due to no physical release and no steam launch.
You reap what you sow. This is what happens when you take away choice from consumers. Even with 88% split going to developers, they can't recoup costs. Meanwhile, Helldivers 2 is a massive hit for Sony thanks in big part to Steam.
