well.. it's an unreal engine game so rule of thumb is that the 360 version will be better :p at least that's what it was for the past two bioshock games..

also I really really really wish they include the "unlock frame rate" option from the first two games, sure it adds a lot of tearing, but the smoothness is appreciated. Obviously I won't play it like that the first time, but it's great for second runs.

Well, IGN is no Digital Foundry, but he does say this as well:
Technical deficiencies are still there. How much they take away from the experience really depends on the person playing it.
Spoiler: show
Much like the recent debate regarding Crysis 3 - it was playable for the author, not so much for you. Or SoTC, which was fine for you even though it exhibited poor performance. In both cases, the games suffered in terms of offering a smooth performance. That much is factual based on the standards.

For someone who doesn't have a modest PC, not much can be done to overcome the technical shortcomings.

PS3 versions are getting leaked before 360 now, It's a new era people :tv:
Metal Gear Rising, Far Cry 3, Army of Two: Devil's Cartel and now Bioshock Infinite. It's not like PS3 version never got leaked first. This trend has started ever since the hacking scene kicked in last September. Ever since then, we have gotten each major release on time since they are all playable :p.

Regarding the quality
On that note, however, let me warn you console players up front: unlike its jaw-dropping-in-2007 predecessor (I’m not counting BioShock 2 here, as that wasn’t our first trip to Rapture), BioShock Infinite does not have the same technical wow-factor going for it. Yes, Columbia is stunning from a scale, scope, and art-direction perspective, but on a raw graphical level it is a bit underwhelming on the Xbox 360 version I’m starting with. Textures are muddy and low-resolution and the framerate takes regular slight-but-noticeable dips. It reminds me of the console version of Dishonored in that way.
He says that it reminds him of Dishonored and i don't think it was such a bad game on consoles. It was a fantastic game and it had a different art style and used Unreal Engine, just like Infinite.

So the PS3/360 version is equivalent of medium settings to PC, according to a Irrational Games employee. Ditto about the performance though. After the fantastic TR port, i thought we would get another one =/

Its not entirely equivalent, Medium on PC is higher than the console settings in a few areas, which means the console versions are a mix Low-Medium.

Playing the PC version on Medium settings is fairly close to the console version, though higher quality in a few areas.
And PC version has 3 presets above Medium i.e. High, Very High and Ultra. Also support of DX11-only/optimized techniques like:

  • Contact Hardening Shadows
  • High Definition Ambient Occlusion
  • Diffusion Depth of Field
  • FXAA implementation optimized for Shader Model 5

PC version is shipping on 3 discs to accommodate the higher resolution content.

The PC version ships on three discs, as opposed to one for consoles, to accommodate the higher-resolution content we provide for the PC.

"easy to use cracks"? I'm beginning to imagine the number of games you have actually tried out on PC this generation can be counted on one hand

But yeah, given the slew of enhancements the PC version boasts, I'm sure it'll be well worth it ;)

DHA KARACHI.
So, considering how well renowned games have been bashed by reviewers, I think the metascore will be b/w 86-91. Anyone agree?
