Bioshock Infinite Failed to authorize disc on Jtag

Hey all. First of all let me extend my gratitude to the creators of this awesome initiative. There was a desperate need for recognizing and supporting the immense gaming community in Pakistan and this is definitely the most positive step in that direction ever taken.

Now on to the problem:
I have a Jtagged x360 running the latest FSD. I have been downloading and extracting isos straight to my external hdd for ages without any issues whatsoever but the Bioshock Infinite release from Complex is giving me problems. Generally if a game gave the 'Failed to Authorize Disc' error i would simply clear my HDD cache and the game would run but that trick doesn't work with this Bioshock release. I've done my googling and it seems that playing with the DVD works fine and the problem only occurs if you stay in any of the in-game menus for more than 5 seconds. This makes the game damn near unplayable from the HDD and the only reason i went the jtag route instead of LT3.0 is because my Benq drive had gotten messed up and wouldn't play anything anyway.

I am hoping that some of the advanced users here who who prefer to DL their games instead of buying them from stores will know a workaround for this since every shortcut i know has failed including the 'playing music from usb before starting game' trick.

Suggestions?

I never knew one could get the "failed to authorize error" while playing from a JTAG's hdd, interesting I just started downloding this one.

It does happen from time to time but has never been a permanent problem until now. I think when playing from an external USB HD the xbox 'assumes' you are playing from a disc.

I guess its something up with the game iso, try another one.
That's probably it. Unfortunately no other isos are available right now except the Complex release. The game is pretty fantastic though, i managed to play it for about 15 minutes before getting the error and those 15 minutes were quite impressive. Lets hope someone does a better release soon.

If there was something wrong with the chip i guess all or atleast most games would have the problem. But everything else works fine. Just finished Tomb Raider and am currently playing AC3 with no issues whatsoever. I'll keep my fingers crossed and hope that a new iso is released quickly.

Thanks for your input.

Check if other people who downloaded the game from the same place are complaining. If yes then download that complex and convert it to GOD yourself.
Got it from Pirate bay. Some have mentioned the same problem, others have not. No one has come up with a solution yet though.

Yeah it seems like some people are having no issues especially on Jtagged consoles. Ii used both xbox image browser ans isoextract to extract the iso onto my extrnel HDD but both times the result was the same. How did you do it? Did you just extract it like i did or did you convert the iso to GOD first? I generally don't bother with GOD containers because of the added complexity of getting it into FSD but for this game it seems like the only viable option.

I was getting the same message when playing the game off the disc on my jtag. The only way I can play the game is by running it from the external hdd after installing it using xexmenu.

Just forget about converting the iso. At the first place, how are you copying the game file (GOD) to your external hdd? Are you copying it to your hdd and running it through Xexmenu or what?

ive seen many people having this problem with bioshock and injustice .. these new games have some sort of check even on jtags .....

to work around this ...... first put XeXmenu on your jtag ..... secondly download this E-xiso_gui - The Graphic Interface For Exiso - Scenyx Entertainment Community ...and extract the ISO to USB/HDD ....

and then run the game thru XeXmenu .. MAKE SURE THAT YOU DON'T HAVE A DISC INSIDE THE DRIVE ... IF THERE IS ANY DISC INSIDE THE DRIVE ... YOU WILL GET THE FAILED TO AUTHORIZE MESSAGE

or an alternate would be to install the game from Disc ...and then run NXE2GOD on your xbox and THEN run it WITHOUT ANY DISC IN THE DRIVE.......
you can get NXE2GOD here Homebrew Connection » NXE2GOD V1.2 now support USB Memory Unit

both methods have been working tested by me on several xboxes .....

if it still doesnt work .. update your DashLaunch... you will solve this problem IA ...you can get dashlaunch here Homebrew Connection » Dashlaunch 3.07 : 16203 kernel support added

That's wonderful information. Thank you so much! I will try all the suggestions you've made to see which one works. One problem i can notice staright away is that i have a disc in the dvd-rom. That could be the problem right there. Can't wait to get home and test these ideas out. God bless.

The game file is the extracted ISO not a GOD container and i extract it straight to my external usb HDD from my pc, hook the hdd to my xbox and just run the game from the xexmenu.

Problem solved. At least, for now. As it turns out, having a dvd in the rom while trying to play this game was the problem. I removed the dvd (COD: BO2) and ran the game from xexmenu like always and its been running fine.
When i had the chip installed i was told to always keep a game disc loaded in the rom otherwise all hell will break lose, apparently that pearl of wisdom isn't all that wise anymore!

Thanks to everyone for chiping in and kudos to faizy for pointing me in the right direction.

Glad to know your problem is solved but why was keeping a disc in the drive necessary? I have a JTAG with a non-modded drive and it's been months since last I used the dvd drive. No need whatsoever for a disc to be in the dvd rom.

You know, now that i think about it, keeping the drive 'occupied' had nothing to do with the mod. It was done because if the drive was left empty it sometimes would not open. Havent used it in so long that i got both things mixed up :p

I have a PS5 but I am not satisfied with the experience. I am currently saving for a 4080 64 GB rig soon. Bit will wait for Pro if performance improves. This gen has been so bad I don't plan on buying consoles anymore for AAA gaming.

Score 1 for game pass. I wouldn't pay full price for this at retail either.

PC Gamer score of 58/100 for Hellblade 2??? Is it really worse than Gollum that was 64/100? Microsoft games can't even come close to high scores of Sony exclusives apparently.
