Best university for CS for an A'level student in Karachi

Yup, sure looks like we are in the same boat. I had so much hope for studying at Habib but then shit happened. Now I am either going to apply at IBA or take a gap year. BTW from which school are you? I am from The City School, Gulshan A level.

We're kind of in the same boat(Our names are similar too ). I'm an Alevel student and currently looking for a good University for CS. I applied at Habib too, got 50% off(Scholarship+Financial Aid-After removing Zakat thingy). I surely nailed the test and they did tell me that when they were offering the scholarship but still the fees isn't what I was expecting so I've dropped it as an option!

Planning to apply at IBA and FAST in the coming future but I'm pretty tensed about my A levels right now. I'm sure I'll pass the aptitude test but not so sure about surviving thru A levels. I have 2C's and 1A. Just need to mantain it to get into IBA but if I lose a grade I'm dead. FAST will be the only option left and I'm not so sure if it'll have Inter ke weird students or just the good ones, who know what they're talking about. Like do they take any students because of political references or other ways? Like I don't wanna be studying with students who aren't somewhat equally eligible. I'd rather waste another year on A levels.

So hit me up here on PG. We might even know each other or must have seen you at Habib!


Edit: And btw I reckon your O levels grade and Entry test messed up your admission. I was pretty shy in the interview but did argue about the topic they gave me(They seemed bored in the beginning but both of em started talking soon).

as i remember the minimum requirement for IBA was BBC so i guess you will be good if you maintain your grades
and for fast rest assured i have about 25ish friends from alevels background at fast (in the same year) so with reference to this and their response i would say FAST doesnt have that "equally eligible" problem in the beginning FAST would allow admission to every one who pass their test and 1styear/as requirement then after the A2/2year results they ask students who donot meet their requirements to drop out with 100% fee refund or transfer to BBA (or other disciples offered at FAST and students meet the requirements of) those who donot are kicked out. Plus over all students are okish and there are no politics/pawas.

moreover i would ask you the same as i did [MENTION=124624]hassansk[/MENTION] to apply to all other CS universities so that in the end if worse comes to worse you have good options.

BOTH OF YOU NOW STOP FREAKING ON ABOUT THIS AND THAT UNIVERSITY !! GET TO YOUR PAST PAPERS AND SOLVE SOME 8 YEARS PAPERS!! GET YOUR ASS TO IT !! DO WELL IN YOUR PAPERS THEN WORRY ABOUT THIS STUFF!!

I'm nearly done with the past papers. Just need to keep revising everything. And thanks for the help bro. Will have to get the equivalence certificate for FAST too, and other universities but for IBA it isn't needed!

cool try to time your self while attempting the past papers, check yourself via the marking scheme, grade yourself as rigidly as possible and best of luck

yes you need equivalence certificate you should apply for olevel equivalence certificate now and if required for alevel after you receive alevel certificate and yes iba doesn't need equivalence certificate.
