Best universities for Engineering in PAKISTAN

i really dont want to go GIK (its tooo damn far )

so its really LUMS vs NUST for ENGINEERING MIND YOU

nust is better known but lums has a better crowd and i just like LUMS better for some reason.

can anyone tell me if going to lums for engineering is good choice?

If you live in Islamabad, GIK is hardly 1 and half to 2 hrs away. Seems like you don't want to live in a hostel like environment. If that's the case, then go for NUST.

nah bro its not the hostel life i have a problem with its the crowd....you need some females dude there must a 50:1 ratio of females there. SO I HAVE NO PROBLEM WITH HOSTEL LIFE. its just down to LUMS vs NUST do state the pros and cons of you can

With regard to engineering, GIK is the best and has more degree value compared to other options u mentioned. LUMS is also good institution but it shines mostly in the BBA, MBA zone.
So after GIK, Nust shud be ur 2nd option..

And i have a theory based on girls liking boys,, wont share it cuz it wud probably offend u..

Depends on which one you can get into. I had a friend with a similar dilemma he ended up going nowhere cuz he didnt get admission anywhere.
Make your expectations realistic.

A guy I knew president of out science society barely got into GIK, he got 4000+merit on NUST and got rejected by LUMS (only about 200-250 intake per year for all science and maths majors.) He was hoping for AKU NUS HKU etc.

This is a decision of after getting into multiple of them. Even getting in UET (considering it has a lower standing than these three) is very difficult.

LUMS only has only one engineering and a very tough curriculum NUST (EME) has a strict enviornment GIKI is far away and has wild boars/wolves roaming around the woods and no entertainment.

Nust has the added benefit of low fee and going through ISSB route while lums is too damn expensive. GIKI has heaters in their rooms while lums doesnot have ACs.
NUST and GIKI are larger than LUMS perhaps because they are in the corners while LUMS is DHA.

Besides all of these three have a great name. You might wanna ask some employers which they prefer.

LUMS doesn't have BBA program mate.

@OP About LUMS SSE well its super competitive (maybe more than NUST EE). Moreover, the first batch of SSE that graduated recently have received amazing job offers from employer abroad (e.g Microsoft, apple e.t.c check LUMS website if you don't believe me, also don't forget to check out the average starting salary of grads on their website) and within Pak. However, this is not to say that NUST doesn't hold its value. NUST is still the largest engineering college and well-reputed amongst employers. Therefore, it all comes down to your own preference if you want a college filled with engineers go for NUST, or if you want to go to a university with diverse student body (i.e business undergrads, EE undergrads e.t.c) go for LUMS. Both have equal quality of faculty, LUMS has better equiment for teaching + Hostel facilities and given the marketing techniques LUMS are into recently I would say in couple of years LUMS Grads would be more in demand (though marginally) incomparision to NUST grads.

P.S: I hope you have an excellent academic record because both are highly competitive. Be well-prepared for the entry tests!

Make up your mind now because practically speaking you can't apply to both LUMS and NUST in the same year. The thing is by the time you would receive your LUMS admission offer nust admission cycle wouldn't have even started.

Getting in all three of these universities is pretty tough. Heck, most of the people I know couldnt even get into Fast. You might think that getting into unis like UET/Fast/Air is easy, but it's not. Apply to as many unis as you can, trust me. And you're right, Lums has the most epic mahol probably in the whole of Pak (university wise). Their graduates get snapped up as soon as they're done with their Bachelors, in most cases. But if you want girls, you would rarely get any in engineering. Should have chosen BBA or something else for that.

I don't know how can people live in GIKI for 4 years. That place can get dull easily. I have been to GIKI for a competition. It's a pretty limited area and unless you don't like going out, you will get bored easily. NUST is the best one IMO. They have a beautiful campus + they are near to the city of Islamabad/Rawalpindi unlike GIKI. I would never go to GIKI even in a million years

P.S can anyone tell me why there is no LUMS in the above ranking. Does this ranking even have any value at all. A lot of popular universities appear to be quite low on it.
