To everyone who owns MCB Lite Card, have the deducted their yearly fees on your card yet? And if so, how much is the amount?

I ask because since my first year of owning the card was over, I kept about Rs 1,400 in the card so that they can deduct the fees. But they didn't for months. When I checked my statements today, it turns out they deducted only Rs 258 a couple of days back as subscription fees. Did something like this happened to any of you?
No such deduction. Perhaps it is because I have exactly zero rupee in my account.

I want to send around $200 to a friend in the US. What's the best way to go about doing this? Wire transfer or Western Union? How much will the charges be for both?

I transferred around 12000 PKR to a friend in Ohio and WU chargers were around 1200 or 1900 with exchange rate :)
Dont know about wire transfer but I am sure it will be cheaper

You must be joking right? bitcoins are too volatile and risky and also you will need to buy bitcoins first which you will have to buy from someone in the west anyway add to that the exchange rate from PKR>USD>bitcoins>USD will add up quite a bit o_O

err have you ever tried sending a payment through bitcoins or are you just raging over the stuff you have heard from others? first of all.. bitcoins can be purchased easily from local resellers ...check on localbitcoins.com there are dealers in pakistan and ive dealt with him bajillion of times ...they do not charge over the current market rate and have a rating system just like PG..

second of all .. bitcoin is, by far the fastest way to get your payment across.. the payment transfers in seconds.. literally .. third ... if the person on the recieving end has a way to cash out bitcoins .. he can do so immediately .. one time i kept bitcoins in my wallet for 7 days and i ended up loosing 0.5 dollars comapred to when i bought them .. its not as volatile as you think it is...

also.. there are people who can buy bitcoins off you .. and amazon and other major retailers also accept bitcoin as payment now

oh and just so you know .. local resellers take PKR from you and send you bitcoins directly.. so nothing is lost in the transfer too

Bitcoins are something I'm interested in but have never really bothered with. Can you outline all the steps I need to take to set up a Bitcoin wallet (or whatever it's called) and how exactly do I go about sending them to another person? Also what's the easiest way to cash bitcoins in Pakistan and in US?

well both of you need to create a free account on localbitcoins.com (there are other wallets as well but i find LBC convenient). each of you will get a unique bitcoin wallet address (its all free) ... then you find dealers near your location on LBC to buy bitcoins from (there a guy i buy from in Lahore through LBC, he accepts payments in his HBL account and he sends me BTC)... once you recieve bitcoins ..you send them out to the other person as it is ... select send .. insert wallet address .. insert amount and youre good....

on the recieving end .. the guy can either buy stuff from popular websites via BTC (many support them now) or find buyers on LBC and sell them the coins for money ... there is a rating system involved so you know you are dealing with trusted people.

also .. get the android/iOS app for bitcoins ... its the easiest way to transact in BTC.. you can scan QR codes for BTC wallet addresses and everything

Can I transfer funds from my hbl account to mcb lite account? If so, how is it possible? Is there a service activation required?
I previously used mcb mobile but for now I cannot as I have terminated my ATM card and without it it is not possible. Is there any other good way to transfer money to lite account?

Okay so i got a check from america in USD so i went to my branch (bank alfalah) and they said that their branch is small and they don't have the licence of foreign currency so they can't accept it.

So i need to open a new bank account for this purpose any recommendations ?
