Our society has plenty to feel ashamed for, but let's not get into that. It's a shame that we live in a society where Police murders 14 people and injures 80, the Election Commission is powerless in the face of unprecedented levels of rigging and the higher Judiciary takes no notice of the violation of peoples basic rights. But nobody bats an eyelid and no action is taken against the perpetrators. In fact we, as a society, have regressed to the level where people actually go to the level of defending such open acts of cruelty and oppression.
Government supporters in this thread are an example of the sort of people I'm hinting at. They are either blind fanboys or are simply ignorant (which is even worse).
More people should read @Salvation's post. /thread material.
Imran Khan is an idealist. His style of politics is influenced by the sort that is practiced in the civilized West. Instigating violence and, resultantly, getting their demands accepted would've been the way to go for any other political leader. The "don't care" attitude of the general population is one reason why he was unable to mobilize enough people.
I agree with @LordIT's assessment. IK's stance makes more sense now. I wouldn't have given the protesters more than a few days but the crowd is swelling as the protest enters its seventh day.
We have taken enough nonsense and crap from the higher ups. IK's rigid stance is commendable and should be supported by and large. Saving face is easy but remaining steadfast on one's principles separates a true leader from the fake.
Stop being racist. Racism is not allowed here at PakGamers, you will get a Ban. Go and read the rules. Stop spreading false information, the protesters are from all over Pakistan. The people of KPK do not know what constitution is? You question the literacy of the people of KPK? I am Punjabi and have lived my whole life in KPK. Let me be very clear to you boy, the people of KPK are well-educated having good life standards, you do not question their knowledge, you do not question the honesty and sincerity of the people of KPK to Pakistan.kal main khud in rebel ky jalsay main gya tha.

You're saying that Imran's style of politics civilized? Inciting a riot is not something civilized people do. Sure you can use the argument that this was the last resort but again, it's not the civilized way to go.
Imran Khan says he doesn't need US Aid, he only needs god. When was the last time god graced us with $$ in the treasury? Pakistan simply can't survive without all that aid. Who will feed our poor politicians?
And only time will tell what was behind his rigid stance. This is Pakistan. The Hamood ur Rehman report was partially published after almost 30 years Hopefully we'll find out the truth behind all this drama sooner than that.
What we should be doing is hoping for an outcome that's good for Pakistan, not supporting corrupt politicians, a canadian cleric or a man-child superstar-turned-politician.
I Consider this worse than LAL MASJID becoz ppl were unarmed there and still govt let that happened with PAT membersIt's a shame that we live in a society where Police murders 14 people and injures 80, the Election Commission is powerless in the face of unprecedented levels of rigging and the higher Judiciary takes no notice of the violation of peoples basic rights. nafu butt?
What tanks? These people were told they'd be dealt with force if they tried to enter the red zone. They weren't. They were basically given a free passage all the way up to the Parliament House. However, if they try to enter the PM house or Parliament with force, something will have to be done.@ASKnASK What riot exactly? Can you elaborate on that because I don't think a peaceful protest equates to a riot in any sense.
There are plenty of people who want NS out. IK could have struck a deal with them without resorting to the need for protests. Crushing people, who are exercising their basic right, with Army tanks is not my idea of an outcome that is good for Pakistan.
have you seen the video also? pics can be edited. Its just like a small stadium 20-25k people:bounce
watch aerial view on Dunya news.have you seen the video also? pics can be edited. Its just like a small stadium 20-25k people
What do you expect a person, who is campaigning to get a sitting PM out of his seat, say? "Dear Mr. Sharif. It is requested to please tender your resignation because you have rigged the elections and massacred innocent civilians"?What tanks? These people were told they'd be dealt with force if they tried to enter the red zone. They weren't. They were basically given a free passage all the way up to the Parliament House. However, if they try to enter the PM house or Parliament with force, something will have to be done.
And I'm referring to his speeches. Fiery speech is one thing but threatening the PM of a sovereign state and his family is another. Tumhain nhi choraingay ye karaingay wo karaingay. Inko main nhi rok sakunga and all that crap.
Like I mentioned in an earlier post, massacring civilians, failing to register FIR and rigging the General Elections is NOT a small matter. The Pakistani awaam is in the "don't care" mode because we're used to such brutality every day. Doesn't make it right. And the military is always going to want Nawaz out. Why? Because they hate the war they're fighting against their old buddies in the Northern Areas And also the fact that Nawaz got close to stabilizing relations with India the last time (before the Kargil fiasco).
Baatain bohat hai. Like I said this is Pakistan. Nawaz Sharif has made plenty of mistakes, the biggest being his underestimation of the power of the mob. In a way, Imran is doing the nation good, but only if he eventually backs down once his more doable demands are met. I'm in total favour of electoral reforms and related stuff, but a democratically elected PM can't be asked to step down like this.
Nawaz Shareef is democratically elected?? Are you serious rigging in election is democratically right?? :shifty:What tanks?
