THE BAD

Who hasn’t heard of ED and beloved Khalid Bhai! For most of us he is associated with our first console purchase and the day we started hating shopkeepers! Khalid Bhai is a classic saddar shopkeeper. Zero aversion to lies and hyperbole and always looking to rake in innocent parents and rip them off like theres no tomorrow. One of his worst habit is the selective memory loss,

“aap ne mujh se buy kia tha?”
“jee, isi Monday tou lia tha”
“sach? Yaad nahi aa raha, receipt lao ho? Kisi aur say lia hoga tum ne”

Doesn’t matter if you’ve known him for 5 days or 5 years, he always tries this game

THE WORST

The issue I’m going to talk about isn’t related solely to ED, the whole market does it. I’m talking about selling USED consoles and accessories as NEW and selling FAKE/COPY accessories as originals. I have the distinct pleasure of having visited ED’s work area/ warehouse. What I saw there was mouth watering. So many consoles and accessories lying around! I just wanted to run away with some We also saw the whole process of how used PS2 are packaged and sold as new.

The chota first cleans the PS2 with some liquid and also polishes it to make it look new.

The tech guy cleans the lens a little or replaces it with a better used lens, so that the console doesn’t die in less than 6 months.

The chota uses the plastic wrap machine to wrap the box in plastic (SEAL PACKED as they call it).

I saw this with my own eyes and I was pissed off like nobody’s business. This is so wrong.

THE GOOD

You’ve got to admit one thing, ED still is the best shop in Karachi. If you have enough time to deal with Khalid Bhai you will get the VERY BEST deal. How does core for Rs. 15,500 sound? You nag him enough he will give you the best deal but be prepared for some khuwari. He will ask you to come tomorrow or some other day and stand you up. You have to be patient.

Under his shopkeeper skin, Khalid Bhai is a nice guy. The first console I bought from him was a Sega Mega Drive and I’ve been helped more times than I’ve been ripped off.

In a nutshell, despite the bads and the worsts, ED still is one of the best options if you’re looking to buy a console in Karachi. Beware of Khalid Bhai’s techniques and you’ll land yourself an envious deal!

I know Khaled bhai. Never dealt with him but he's helpful. I talked with him about Resistance 2 on PS3 which wasn't available in the market and i didn't even got it from him but he tried to find one, he even called Dubai but the game was out of stock.

Yes bought my first xbox 360 from him

Yes i myself made them open two xbox360 packs which had plastic wrapper on & then i rejected them cause they were launch models & they wrapped them again infront of me in that workshop

kiran zone is still some good but check this out a shop in sha lahore just in the backlane of the doggar(funny names) milk shop its quite well furnished but now u will be more shocked chedcck this out looking for a 8800gt i knew i couldnt get it here but still try to check my luck now i asked him about it and he said it is not available but he had 8600gt gt and he try to sell it for 15000 now ^&$$%@$% him 5k max for new onr and he try to rip like hell wow and made excuses like i have to get it from america blah blah.checked hafiz center and 8800gt cost 14600 hahhahahh what a loser
then my bro asked him for ps3 20 gb and he offered like 30000 and 5k for each game i will buy as a discount hahhahahahh i think my bro look more stupid even being a software engineer hahahahahaha
