Since the note was fake, shopkeeper ne apni jaib se 800 diye. 200 ka saman gaya, aur 1000 dusre shopkeeper ko ada kerne pare. So total loss 1800. (Actually it's slightly less than that since retail price is higher than buying price.)

Already told you. Its 1800 plain and simple. He gave 800rs to that girl and now he must give 1k to the shopkeeper so total loss = 1800

1800 rs... he had to return 1000 rs of real money to the other shopkeeper as the 1000 originally paid was a counterfeit and of zero value.
800 rs of real money he gave as a change to the girl ..
he kept the 200 rs of real money from the change he got from the other shopkeeper so that makes the worth of the products the girl bought even.
that makes 1000(return) + 800(to girl) = 1800rs
