LOL ok so you found one game where it beats the 5850 by a couple of FPS. Do you think thats reason enough to say it pwns the 5850 hard? Move onto the next two pages on the benchmark and you'll see some system taxing games where the 5850 stretches its muscles

The GTX 460 is much cheaper as well. And for the price, its a more sensible purchase over the HD5850. I think GTX 460 is the clear winner here.

if you want to compare, compare stock with stock. Dont compare highly OCd with stock. Warna find a benchmark that compares a sapphire vapor X OCd with a Palit GTX465

lol guys guys...relax... we all know the GTX 460 is a good card in terms of price/ performance... first of lets clap for nvidia for finally coming out with a card which is worth buying unlike the other GTX 4** series...
And secondly... its childish to say when one says that a highly voltaged tweaked OCed card beats a stock card... for the love of God, dont embarass urself while posting such crap...
The GTX 460 is a very good competitor to the HD 5850 but saying it beats the hell out of it... ur wrong :)

Is there a point beating hd5850/5830 with total 1.7 fps ? Who would give a damn to that result on that resolution ? On playable resolutions, the results are more or less the same between either cards. Don't know what the fuss is all about.

great point by blade.....and i wud also like to share something....gtx460 is a great step by nvidia to bring its rep up after the great loss by the gtx480 and 470 and its definitely the best in its class (price range).......but comparing OC with non-OC....kmon guys....and lastly, m not a fan of any company so, the atitude here by nvidia fans about the ati competeters is realy useless...u guys r comparing a new product with an almost 6-8 month old product and giving such emotions with their replies....
and like raven pointed out, 1.7 to even 3 fps is nothing compared to the total fps...look at the percentage difference!!

and those who r looking at a few games and saying 460gtx beats 5850 then looking at the benchmark hms posted one cannot say that 4890 beats gtx285....

The only sensible reply i saw in freakin 4 pages.

If you guys are expecting price decrease then it'll be only in case of 5830. 5850 is still better than GTX460, if you can OC GTX460 then you can OC 5850 too and not to forget 5850 is one of the most OC'able cards. 1000Mhz from 725Mhz is just like a walk in the park.

GTX460 beats 5850 in only 1-2 games; mostly at low resolutions. True potential of a GPU is unleashed only when its tested on high resolutions. Low resolutions take advantage of CPU.

If someone gets a GTX460 1GB in Lahore, feel free to ask me for 5850 or give me GTX460 to do a comparison - both at stock and OC'ed.

    You reap what you sow. This is what happens when you take away choice from consumers. Even with 88% split going to developers, they can't recoup costs. Meanwhile, Helldivers 2 is a massive hit for Sony thanks in big part to Steam.
