hi everyone!
it might feel a little weird, but i wanted to ask everyone if it is normal!
after watching some movie or tv series (not everyone, just the one that touches me) i feel caught up in the moment! i feel this strange sadness wrapped around me and takes me days to get over it!
it is related with music in my opinion!
e.g after finishing my most recent anime Avatar: the last air bender! i cant get Zuko out of my mind, background music esp of Azula vs Zuko last agni kai! :/
it happened with me after watching many other movies too! just curious what is it?
Nothing to worry about, it is completely normal. When someone experiences something truly profound in their respective choice of media, this feeling you mentioned usually occurs.
I myself watch TONS and TONS of animes, series, movies and play games. Every once in a while, there comes something that truly grips me and doesn't let go even days after I have finished it. That is how you know that you truly have experienced a MASTERPIECE.
And like you, the intensity of this feeling is mostly related to the soundtrack for me too as I simply love a good soundtrack. I still remember how CLANNAD made me feel after finishing it. Both times I watched it, its ungodly beautiful music stayed in my head for days. Hell, even thinking about it sometimes overwhelmed me and gave me goosebumps. Avatar: The Last Airbender did this to me too all those years ago when I watched it.
Finishing LOTR trilogy gave me this feeling too.
As for games, the last game that did this to me was The Last of Us. Other games that I can think of that gave this kind of experience are MGS4 and Mass effect 1 and 2. Not three because well the ending sucked initially, extended cut made it better.
It mostly happens with series or animes because they are long and we get more attached to the characters and the world in it that after they end, a sadness over looms for days (if it is great that is).
