[SOLVED] A little help Xperia Ray

I want to ask that how can I update my xperia Ray to ICS?. Built in update feature of phone tells me that my phone is up to date, which is on version 2.3.4. Gsmarena and other websites are showing that Ray can be updated to ICS 4.0.4. Should I manually root my cell and update or wait for official one?

Official ICS 4.0.4 update is already out, After applying update your phone will lag like a Pentium 3 system, so be prepare for it.

Plug it into your PC and download Sony PC Companion and it'll show that there is an update for your phone

Don't update. You will regret it. Just check out the official Sony Mobile Forums; Hundreds of disappointed users. Stay on GB.

[MENTION=15909]Witch3r[/MENTION]! Yes the official update is out for quite a while now, and you can upgrade to it via Sony PC Companion software. ICS is a resource hungry, so you'll face quit a bit of lags here & there. Rest is all good.

So you should upgrade to a newer operating system. However, if you have to upgrade then i'd advise going for a Custom JellyBean ROM. (Wait for 4.2, which is just around the corner ... currently the latest is 4.1.2). Reason being, JellyBean is more optimzed than ICS and will be much better performer. However, you'll have to sacrifice the Xperia's own UI for it.
