If you are getting a PS3 then no need to upgrade your PC because by looking at your current PC, it is obvious that you need a completely new PC to play current Gen. and Next Gen. games.
So leave PC where it is and buy the console you were going to buy.
I'm not upgrading my current system anymore... Was thinking of buying a new one. Anyways, any suggestions on a good LCD that would go good with a PS3? Price around 15k.

Thanks.

PS3 needs an HDMI to connect to an LCD right? I dont know any LCD in 15k. But you can get a View Sonic VX-2260 WM in 20k price range. Its a full HD 1080p LCD.

hp 20" lcd has hdmi interface, i think.
which one?? Mention the model??

if you are talking about the one at Galaxy, the HP Pavilion 20" then i am afraid it only got two interfaces, the VGA and the DVI.
HDMI only comes with HD LCD's. I dont know much about PS3 but i think it will work IF he can manages to get a DVI to HDMI adapter.

Wait, guys. In total I can spend about 60k on either a PC or a PS3... So I was thinking, If I buy a PS3 Slim for 24k, and not buy an LCD, I'm left with 36k. So, I could just get a good gaming PC with the leftover money. But do you guys think Gaming PCs in that price range are worth buying? Also, please suggest a setup if you can... I can probably go upto 40k if it's worth it! Thanks for all your replies, really appreciate them. :)

It will cost u more than 28k if u buy from here.
I'm not buying it from here. As I said in the first post, a relative of mine is in america at the moment and coming back in september. :)

Can anyone suggest a good PC setup for 40k. Mainly for gaming but also good for multitasking (just bare-able).

u dont need to spend much...
this is how u should go.....without break ur bank..
go for the Asus P5SD2 Mobo.... will cost around 3100...which supports 45nm cpus aswell!!
then go for a dual core cpu the E5200.... for like 5800
then u can go for a second hand GPU like 8800GT..which is a very good card for like 7 or 8k...
plus u need atleast 2 gb ram which will cost u for 2400..
so ur total roughly comes to 18k which is a very good upgrade for u...
the rest is upto!!!

MY sincere suggestion to you is to either go with the gaming PC or a console like PS3. Quit the idea of buying slim with an average dual core gaming rig in first place. Get one best thing either a good gaming rig or the PS3. Well, if you go with the PS3 then make sure you have a lot of money to spend on buying games. Since, each title will cost you around 2k+ Rs.

If i was you and i had 60k budget, i would definitely go for a high end gaming rig. Its the best value for money. Not just in terms of games. With a fast computer you will get other advantages like cheap HD movies, reliable day to day computing, massive storage etc.

High end gaming rig has far more options (other than just gaming) than a console. Besides you can buy a game pad and then enjoy cheap games from the market.

Here, you should also note that there are few games that are exclusive to consoles. Such as Uncharted is one game i want on PC real bad. So you get some you loose some. Rest assured most of the new titles are released for PC as well.

I am not a fanboy but if you like to spend efficiently, effectively and economically then gaming rig is the way to go.
