More info HOPEFULLY tomorrow.

N7 = November 7 = Official Mass Effect day.

and one Jeff Grubb (who has been leaking info for a while) has posted this today:

Earlier in October a Mass Effect Legendary Edition was rated by a ratings board in Korea.

And even before that, Venture Beat confirmed that it is indeed coming, but not this calendar year.

For many months now, our team at BioWare has been hard at work updating the textures, shaders, models, effects, and technical features of three enormous games. Our goal was not to remake or reimagine the original games, but to modernize the experience so that fans and new players can experience the original work in its best possible form. It’s been amazing to see the adventures of Commander Shepard take on new life in super-sharp resolution, faster framerates, and beautiful visual enhancements. As game developers, we always hope that our games will transcend their original platforms. Having the opportunity to remaster the trilogy means that the fruits of a decade of our work will live on, and will be experienced better and clearer than ever before.

Mass Effect Legendary Edition will include single-player base content and DLC from Mass Effect, Mass Effect 2, and Mass Effect 3, plus promo weapons, armors, and packs – all remastered and optimized for 4k Ultra HD. It will be available in Spring 2021 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC, with forward compatibility and targeted enhancements on Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5. More information to come in the new year!

Meanwhile here at BioWare, a veteran team has been hard at work envisioning the next chapter of the Mass Effect universe. We are in early stages on the project and can’t say any more just yet, but we’re looking forward to sharing our vision for where we’ll be going next.

For me personally, Mass Effect represents years of work and countless special memories, so every year I feel incredibly fortunate to celebrate N7 Day with players around the world. Thank you so much for supporting us over the years. I can’t wait to continue our adventure together – revisiting our favorite memories in the Mass Effect universe, and creating brand new ones!

Finally !

Not expecting that new ME game to come out any time soon. They still have a Dragon Age game they've been 'working on' for the last 3 to 4 years without any updates at all.

You reckon they'll bring back Shepard as the main protagonist?
No. Shepard's story is complete. Realistically it will probably be a sequel in the same world with different characters.

Although, I wouldn't be surprised if the next ME game is more like X Com. Those 4 people in that promo image sure look like a 4-party squad.

They should focus on the same universe the original trilogy was built on. Heck it could be a prequel focusing on first contact war and Anderson being the 1st spectre cadidate and i'd still grab it.

Though I personally wouldn't really mind seeing Shepard again. He's one the few characters that leave a mark on you no matter how long ago you played it. Both Mark Meer & Jennifer Hale did a terrific job on the VO.

New Rumor suggests the Legendary Collection may be releasing in March 2021.

A couple of online retailers have now listed the upcoming Mass Effect: Legendary Edition for release on 12th March 2021.

EA is yet to officially announce a date for its remastered Mass Effect trilogy pack beyond a vague spring window but, barring any further delays, Eurogamer understands the above date to currently be accurate.

A ton of info has been released.

Release date: 14th May
Platforms: PC, Consoles
Price: $59.99

All games are getting significant remaster enhancements with ME1 getting the most work. Environments and effects are getting some heavy retooling and game play is more in-line with ME2 and 3. However, it still retains the overheating mechanic instead of the heat sinks ME2/3 use.

Yes sir, one of the best games ive played, still a niche tho and not everyone's cup of tea. Also the rework looks kinda underwhelming from the in game shots at least, not sure what I expect of it. Maybe the immersion makes up for it. Also wouldnn't mind anderson shepard or anyone at this point give me the game or something close to the orginal

As mentioned earlier, looks like ME1 is getting the most amount of sweeping changes, but all other games are also getting sensible enhancements. Some key enhancements are below:

ME1:

The official bullet point list of changes to Mass Effect 1 given to the press were;

- Camera interpolation/smoothing
- More consistent auto save points
- In-scope aim smoothing
- Cover pass
- Dedicated melee button
- Improved enemy AI
- Improved squad/AI controls
- Minigames unified across platforms
- Removed class based weapon restrictions (training restrictions remain)
- Removed class based aim penalties
- Rebalanced XP for 60 level cap (NG+ not required)
- Improved boss encounters
- Improved cooldown for first aid
- More unified control scheme between games
- Reduced difficulty/frequency of minigames
- Modernised HUD
- "And many more..."

Visuals in general:

This video details some of the important changes as well as what to expect on PS5/Series X.

TL;DR, PS5/SX won't get a dedicated release but they will get an 'enhanced' version ala Cyberpunk, which adds some extra performance/resolution modes over the current consoles. None of the versions will get anything like RT since they're still using UE3 and it would be too much work to port the game to UE4. However in some areas they will achieve some RT like reflections by rendering the scene twice on PC and the stronger consoles.

Started Dead Island 2, and i find it pretty lame. The story is shit. The characters are either cringe or bland (all 6 of them), The gameplay isn't fun. Even the goddamn zombies don't behave like proper zombies. They're all fast & intelligent unlike how zombies are supposed to be like. Any fan of "zombie" genre cannot possibly like this shitfest of a game. Dying Light 2 was million times better than this shit.

tbh gaming industry as a whole is failing much like tech industry. They have buckled down too much to Corporate suites then relying on passionate and innovative people. A corporate only believes in financial growth and shareholders.
