According to a Polish insider Borys Niespielak, the main reason for Cyberpunk 2077 delay lies in current-gen consoles, which are reportedly not powerful enough to run the game properly.
Speaking in a podcast, which you can watch below, Niespielak says that the original Xbox One console is not powerful enough to run the game properly and apparently, Cyberpunk 2077 performance on the console is "extremely unsatisfactory"
"I've heard a number of people say that," Quest Designer Patrick Mills told Game Informer at E3 today when asked if Cyberpunk might be a next-gen game. "The current console generation is what we're aiming for. We are aiming for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and of course PC as well."
I said the base Xbox version will hold back CP2077 and that came out to be 100% true, the 'leak' even named the base Xbox One as the chief problem, not the base PS4
Also its struggling on both base consoles. Weaker one will suffer more obviously. Just look at gamee like AC Odyssey or Control. Poor on both, poorer on base Xbox.
Cory made a game equally fantastic on base and Pro hardware, he knows what he's talking about
I don't have high hopes for the base versions of CP (the base XBO will probably be exceptionally poor .. maybe not as bad as Ark Evolved, but certainly nowhere close to Gears 5).
Yeah, but first party budget and prowess will always ensure better results than third party efforts. If this was a first party MS game, it likely wouldn't be rumored to be in this sorry state.
Based on DF's excerpt, base PS4 runs Days Gone just fine .. itni minor dips to almost every open world game mai hoti hain, even RDR2 has drops on the mighty XBX.
The base PS4 is good overall, but can struggle more in some scenarios - bike rides through the open world can see frame-rate stutter, and scenes heavy in alpha effects also take their toll. By and large though, it's still fine - and the quality of the open world is much the same on both systems.
If this is the extent of performance drops on CP2077 on base consoles and they don't drop to some ridiculously low resolution numbers, I would call that a technical win.
Performance drops are one thing but Days Gone bugs and glitches are also well documented. Its part of the play testing and polish.
We've seen many poor performing games on base consoles in both linear and open world games. Theres no reason to expect a next-gen game like Cyberpunk 2077 to not run into any issues.
The only valid thing from his pov he said in the video is AC dead since Black Flag. According to woke police that game was woke too. Welsh man in West Indies. So atleast he's consistent I guess lol
Did y'all see the new Assassin's Creed trailer? They finally made a AC set in Japan & then they put a negro as the male protagonist. Ubisoft is taking cues from Disney, and it isn't gonna end well for them, just like Disney. Go woke, go broke!
Phil keeps talking about breaking barriers to gaming, making it accessible on all platforms yada yada, while killing competition and creativity at the same time. the fact that i actually believed him for a second lol
Phil should be held responsible for this shitfest too, just like Sarah, but it's highly likely that these decisions are coming from Satya. And this isn't even the end of it. More closures are coming.
if we are moving towards more and more popular trash across platforms that make billions for companies, I'm happy with all the barriers and exclusivity because at least that brings some pressure to create good stuff.

"These changes are not a reflection of the creativity and skill of the talented individuals at these teams or the risks they took to try new things" ... seems to me that's exactly what it is
