Yup me, it took me half hour to load pg with 50s or 60s refresh, but however can access some certain website pakistan based or asia based like aliexpress, play-asia, Dawn.com and somehow facebook too but cant access hotmail , Psn anyting other than that.

Hi can anyone please tell me how much is the expected download speeds on 8mb Ptcl dsl?
i recently upgraded to 8mb but getting speeds around 650kbps

yr on torrents ( private trackers) i get a speed sumwhere between 920-950kb/s... normal downloading speed off websites varies..

Post a pic of your line stats, PTCL has recently been reducing the line profile assigned to 8 Mbps connection, instead of configuring the downstream for 9215, they set it to 8191 kbps instead, causing users to get around 700-750 kB/s as opposed to the actual 850 - 900 kB/s that you're supposed to get.

Log into your modem web portal.

Click Device Info > Statistics > xDSL

And then post a screenshot and send it over.

If you don't know how, mention which modem you have so I can tell you how to get into the web portal.

Here's the issue. Your SNR is really low, causing the modem to sync at a lower line profile than specified.

Get your line checked by:
1) Ask the lineman to check for any joints.
2) File a complaint for Bad line parameters.
3) Change the wire from the pole/DP to your house.
4) Get a new splitter if you haven't already.

Once the SNR goes up, your modem should sync fine at the normal rate for an 8 Mbps package.

Hi guys i want to ask if anyone here knows any other medium of contacting ptcl coz i have tried 1218 and ptcl cares but my internet is still down after 2 weeks.I asked for them to install 12mb VDSL and just after the installation my internet stopped working.Its been more than 2 weeks now.Atleast 8mb was working fine.I dont know what to do after like 3 complaints and several visits to the exchange.The broadband guy in our area isnt even attending my call anymore.Help would be much appreciated.

Ptcl damn slow also in hyderabad websites taking forever to load fb videos not playing. Some websites work fine others nevermind. Warid 4g and mobilink 3g working great. Waiting for fiberlink to get installed gonna burn that ptcl router after that.

SNR = Signal to Noise Ratio

Basically the quality of your line.

PTCL isn't configuring lines at 9215 anymore so they've set yours at 8023, so you won't get full 8 Mbps.

Other than that, your line is good.

Cant even connect Fifa Ea servers on ps4 so tired of this shit ptcl and cant browse webs, my friends are playing everything smoothly on nayatel etc other isps and just called Ptcl helpline they dont even know shit about it.
