Before i start, I want to tell you that FAST is out of the question. Why? Because it is way too far from my house.
Alright, the title says 'Best university for CS for an A'level student in Karachi', this phrase 'for an A'level student' is very important.
People have advised me that universities with majority of the students who are from inter background are mostly not that welcoming for A'level students.
My school counselor said to me that FAST is best but since it is far, he said that my first priority should be IBA.
I want to get admission in Habib university. Even though I can get scholarship but still it is too expensive.
I am also considering UBIT, KU but I have heard that there are always lots of political activity over there.
Can someone help me. I would prefer answer from university students with A'level background.

Look dude whoever said there is political activity in UBIT has not studied from there. He must be from some other department. UBIT is not a Abuses will lead to ban political playground like the rest of the uni. No shady activities there. In my 2nd semester and have yet to face any such activity... It's true that there are people there with political background but they don't interfere in your matters. You live your life they live theirs. no forcing to join events etc.

Now apart from this DHA Suffa is also a good uni to consider... NUST is good too. Dunno much about IBA tho. And i can't say about A level (i have an inter background)
I'd say look for NUST or UBIT. Plus its my own personal view (as far as i could infer just from 1 year) if you wanna go towards research side you should think about UBIT. The courses there are more about science rather than just programming. I mean im in my 2nd semester and have studied about Discrete Probab Distributions, Continuous Probability Distributions, Sampling, ANOVA, Laplace transforms, Higher order differential equations... I asked my friends from other uni and they didn't know much about this shit especially stats. If someone studied these from another uni i'd like you to inform me.

Bro You have heard wrong about UBIT that there are always lots of political activity over there, no, its not true.
I have studied from UBIT, and i can recommend you for it.
As @Eternal Blizzard said "that there are people with political background but they don't interfere in your matters. You live your life they live theirs. no forcing to join events etc.", its true.

Studying BSCS from IBA. First Semester. I too chose IBA over FAST because of the distance and environment. Also an A level student.

After FAST, IBA is the best choice. CS is also good in Iqra University and Bahria university. And A levels doesnt matter in these universities. My brother is doing CS from Bahria( A level student). And I have two cousins in Iqra, one has completed his studies and the other one is in 5th semester

Can you share your experience at IBA till now? like are the teachers and facilities (labs, classrooms etc.) good? How many A'level students are there in your batch?
I am thinking about getting admission in IBA for BSCS. I will really appreciate your reply regarding my question.

yaar i don't socialize much so don't know but i know 1 guy who did A-levels and is with me. So i don't think its impossible. UBIT is changing its test scheme this year too
Hey, can you tell me a bit more about UBIT. I read about the faculty and it is pretty good but having a good degrees doesn't makes a person a good teacher. So can you tell if they teach good and live up to their qualification. I have another question about the facility. Is the facility good over there? I have heard that if something breaks or gets damaged, it stays like that. Is that true?

lol its a govt institute so ofc the facilities ain't that good. Computer labs are good. they got i7 or i5 i think? don't remember correctly in the 2nd floor lab and dual cores in the ground floor ones. Apart from that i have seen them teaching Unity too. CS teachers are good. Stats one is pretty good as well but goes like a train. And there ain't no canteen for ubit :D u have a 10 min walk to the canteen :s

so basically its just go to ur classes listen the lectures go back home :D

If you are looking for something good looking and some good education then try private... DHA, Nust seem good

As far as the facilities and infrastructure is concerned, IBA is top notch. It recently got alot of funding by their alumni and have built new buildings and labs on campus. All labs have either i5 or i7.
As far as teachers are concerned , it's all on luck. Kuch bohat achay kuch bohat buray aur kuch aiwein. It all depends on your luck which teacher you end up with. People line up at the programs office at the end of each semester to get enrolled with good teachers. But that only matters if you're looking out for GPA which you shouldn't unless you're on merit scholarship. However, the CS faculty is mostly great, contrary to what people from other unis say.
This year they took about 192 students in their CS program from which about 25% were from A levels. I think you should come to IBA because of the environment. You have alot of exposure here. Also, you get to socialise with people from other programs as well if you're willing to. Something which you'll miss in other unis considering you're from an A level school's environment. My experience at IBA has never been consistent, either great or bad. Depends on the week :p but it's never specifically because of IBA just uni life in generally. It takes time getting used to and adapting to the change.
In the end if you do come to IBA, you won't regret it. That I can assure you. :) rest is all up to you, Goodluck.

I have a question. There are two campuses of IBA, city and main. In which campus is computer science offered?

I know for a fact that it's offered at the main campus. I'm not sure about the city campus but I think it's offered there as well

my suggestions
1) IBA (good faculty, better facilities then any CS uni in karachi, a similar atmosphere for you and the name)
2) DHA Suffa (best right now faculty wise they hired best teachers from fast, bahria and iba)
3)Bahria (bahria is registered under PEC and you get an engineering degree)(bahria doesn't produce the same SE volume of graduates as fast but the quality is defiantly on par with the cream of fast)

dont go for habib its expensive as hell and the said scholarships are only maintainable if you keep your GPA 3.5 and above
if you are considering UBIT and KU consider NED

and in regards to "background are mostly not that welcoming for A'level students" the problem you might have would be the fact that since most of your peers might be from matric background the teacher and the other students might be going on a different frequency and you might not be able to understand whats going on this happens especially in math classes.

If you want maximum alevel peers go for iba plus they have the faculty, facilities and name along with the funds to maintain them.

main campus with a few courses in the city campus (oh and the city campus has a i-mac lab to talk about facilities) (and about teachers generally they are good but you will find occasional di**heads every where)

It is good, however it should not be your first choice. You should try to get in IBA or FAST.
fast is out of the question for him so after iba his next choice should be bahria or suffa
and a correction bahria offers BSE (bachelor is Software Engineering)

Started Dead Island 2, and i find it pretty lame. The story is shit. The characters are either cringe or bland (all 6 of them), The gameplay isn't fun. Even the goddamn zombies don't behave like proper zombies. They're all fast & intelligent unlike how zombies are supposed to be like. Any fan of "zombie" genre cannot possibly like this shitfest of a game. Dying Light 2 was million times better than this shit.

tbh gaming industry as a whole is failing much like tech industry. They have buckled down too much to Corporate suites then relying on passionate and innovative people. A corporate only believes in financial growth and shareholders.
