Pakgamers Official 2013 Game Of The Year Awards!


2013 has been a great year for gaming. No matter what happened to us in our daily lives this year, the onslaught of brilliant games throughout the year including both AAA and Low Budget/Indie titles made sure that we'd atleast have something to fall back on. There were tons of brilliant games, and some really bad games too but all in all it was a damn good time and for that we're thankful to the games industry and everyone who worked hard on these games to make them as good as they are. It wasn't easy to decide a single best game this year but as always Team PG and Team Underground worked together to bring you this year's Official Game Of the Year awards!

Bioshock: Infinite

Bioshock Infinite was a remarkable experience from start to finish. A game with all the necessary qualities to become an instant classic. A memorable cast of characters, a fantastical setting, bright and brilliant art and a story that transcends not only the boundries of time and space but also the human imagination. It is by no means a perfect game and it has it's fair share of flaws but the things that it does well and the things at which this game excels far outweigh the negatives making it an experience we will remember fondly for a long time to come. So it should be no surprise that Bioshock infinite is Pakgamer's official Game Of the Year 2013.

What nobody did with the best game of the year, PakGamers did.
Seriously though, I am not disliking The Last Of Us one bit; its downright amazing in its own way, but in my opinion, Bioshock Infinite is much more. It is one of the greatest games, not only of the year, but of all time. It does so much more than other games and does it better. Every single thing about the game screams perfection.

EGM stole my words;

Rare are the games that leave such a lasting impression on the us that, days after completion, we’re still excitedly swapping theories and interpretations about What It All Means. BioShock Infinite is one of those gems. It is, in a word, a total mindfuck. Ken Levine and his team at Irrational Games have not only delivered one of the finest narrative videogame experiences to date, but also a helluva shooter. It is the complete package—no one aspect of BioShock Infinite takes a backseat to the other. And while we recognize there are some legitimate issues to parts of BioShock Infinite that are certainly open to criticism, it remains nothing short of fantastic.

Before we proceed, Full Disclosure ... I personally don't care about GOTY awards because this is as subjective as it can get. Which means i can name DOZENS of games for "MY" GOTY list. I love gaming and i place most of the underrated games highly.

So ... same question to you. "WHY" do you feel these awards are ... as you say, Shit?

It's simple. The awards don't match his own opinions so they automatically become shit.

I am just curious, what are you thoughts about Bioshock Series as a whole? If possible, please try to state each game in the series separately before commenting on the series as a whole :)

I am not here to criticize your choices, so you are free to say whatever you like ... as long as you state valid reasons.
