this question has been answered Nth times now...
the regions don't affect the game play or the console.
Region1 game can be played on a Region 3 console and vice versa
The regions only matter when it comes to DLC ( downloadable Content) via PSN (Playstation Network).... so if you intend to play pirated games on your PS3 by jail breaking it then Regions shouldn't bother you at all.....
but if you intend to use the PSN and not Jailbreak your console ... then the best regions to get an PSN ID are 1 & 2 ... however; if you're into Japanese or Far Eastern games then region 3 would be the best choice.
@ Personal: Olx is a forum... and the repair won't guarantee you anything... it can reappear even after being repaired... so I think I'd also give the same suggestion.

In addition to that, some games come with region locking, for eg- if you have a region 1 game ,and your friend has a region 2 game, you both won't be able to play online together.

Great...well coz, it was not until a few months back, i was trying to play mgo with a friend, he had region1 disc and i had region2, i encountered this conflict then, region locking. One question, is Blu-ray discs regions locked for ps3 or Dvd? I tried to play a Pal dvd with my ntsc u/c console but it said it couldn't play. Maybe it is my hd tv?
plz enlighten me with this ps3 backup/restore thing. what does it save and what not?

well..restore data saves your saved games...and themes etc....videos pics..etc..
for demos and games bought from psn you can always go back and download from psn.....just deactivate your account, before you jailbreak...

Guys, a bit of help. Is FIFA 11 worth the buy? I head it's pretty crappy and many people have reverted back to FIFA 10. I have FIFA 10, how much will I have to pay on top of that for a CD exchange with FIFA 11? And is it worth it?

Guys, when I play MGS4 with PSbreak, It gets stuck after the cutscene where Meryl is introduced in Act 1. The screen just turns black and nothing happens afterwards. Any idea why this is happening?

its a bug in MGS4 backup.. you need to get a save file from internet and start the game from there.. or use the original disk to get through that part.. orelse you are stuck there forever
That's the first I've heard of it. The general feeling at the time of release was that it was a lot harder to score and those 1-2's that everyone loved and depended on were no where near as effective. The game was forcing people to actually try and play well and that is where they were failing and as a consequence started blaming the game. Fifa 11 is a much more balanced game than it's predecessor. I doubt anyone is still playing Fifa 10 anymore
