I don't think the one available on souq is the chinese version. You won't have play store and Google Apps installed, and there will still be some chinese leftover. It's always preferable to go for Global Version, since recently it's difficult to convert Chinese ROM to Global ROM, you have to wait a month at least to be able to change the ROM from CHINESE to GLOBAL, and that's risky as well. I have an Mi 8 for sale, if you're interested in that send me a PM.
If it's the Global version, it won't be compliant, but it will work here just fine.
It's highly recommended to NOT get the Chinese version as both SIM slots have the same IMEI which PTA will be blocking here once DIRBS is implemented.
I have this phone. Got it from China. Both sims have different IMEIs. PTA shows both sims valid. I have called/SMSed from both sims but still the status shows as valid and not PTA complaint.
And yes, no GApps. But you can download them from Xiaomi store. Google Contacts is the only app which does not sync at all. Otherwise it is fine. You can remove almost all Chinese bloatware apps but you will still find traces of Chinese.
I am not sure about souq. It could be Global.
Overall, I am very much satisfied with this phone. Only thing missing is a headphone jack

Xiaomi might stop allowing this in the future and some people were already saying that when they tried flashing Global ROM on Chinese phone, the phone got bricked and had to be re-flashed by Xiaomi Service Center.

But is the phone working properly in pakistan after DIRBS implementation ?
The souq version is chinese
It will always say Valid, it only shows Compliant for officially sold PTA approved phones.
Although one might think that's the case but for my mi max 2 that I got from Singapore has one of its imei listed as compliant.
