I have a good old XBOX 360 falcon, which got RROD due to fluctuation in electricity few days back. I got it checked it and the problem seems to be in its GPU.
Now there are few questions in mind, is the GPU replacement a permanent fix to RROD? Should I go for it? And lastly around how much should a GPU replacement cost me?
Please respond to my query ASAP as I want to get back into gaming soon too bad.
Thanks in advance.

Its been a week, i am replying very late since you were in trouble because you wanted to get back into gaming really badly but still.. i don't get what you mean by the word 'permanent' here, if you are sure that the problem lies in the gpu then changing it will obviously fix the 360. Taking permanent's literal meaning, you can't say nothing about electronics as even a straight out of box device could fail. The problem with these old 360s is that they produce large amount of heat and there's not that effective method of sinking that heat hence running it for long gaming session could lead to it getting fried. So yeah, no one will guarantee you that it would be a permanent fix but if you take care of your 360 a little extra, then there are not chances of any annoying rrod. As for the prices, a rough guess for the gpu price would be 3-4k if they are available.
