Worth Buying Samsung Galaxy S2?

ICS already available for it which is enough for an year until jelly beans lands, As far as games concern its still a very powerful device to run every game as per my knowledge

My Shopwala told me that ONE S is around same price of samsung galaxy S2 but it has only VGA front cam, No SD card slot (10GB space available ONLY) and non-removeable battery (which i am least concerned about). But this One S is NOT available in karachi atm, can anyone else confirm.

the price maybe the same... but one S is a lot more powerful... it even beats s3 in some benchmarks... it is 16gb space which comes down to 10gb due to other uses... it would be the same with s2... although yes it does not have a removable battery and an sd card slot... which are the only two things that are lacking...you can buy it from online shops...

i am also towards ONE S but the question is, is 10GB ENOUGH for a top-end android phone? (because i feel if it had only space for additional SD card slot, it would be a huge success)

no its not. even 32gb one x is small. they are 720p fones and support 1080p . if i watch a movie which is 12gb 1080 how to put it in one s. have to go through hassles of converting.

Thanks for the replies ... as i was not able to find good phone according to my needs for around 50k (screen around 4.3 inches, future proof for around a year or two,removeable battery and micro SD card slot) so i HAD to go for Galaxy S2 as it covers almost all of my requirements (except uture proof for a year) .. so the only question remains is that should i go for Korean made S2 or the China one? plus i heard there is a 'G' version of the S2 ... should i go for that or the origional one?

Go with the Korean one.
Get the Original one, the one saying I9100 only, the G's and the T's are just shadows of the originals...

S2 will be getting Android 4.0.4 version sometime in June, the same version that S3 is currently running.
Not sure if Touchwiz UX will be available officially for S2 with 4.0.4...

I also faced the same issue when looking for i9000. only i9003 was available and that too was discovered after 4 hours of searching and waiting :S
I think there's not much difference in the G version since it can run almost everything, then why hesitate?

It's got a different SOC, rest is the same. Doesn't mean its low quality. The only con is the less developer support.

The G version has an inferior GPU but given the resolution of S2 it really wont be a problem in the foreseeable future. Are there any benchmarks comparing the 2 versions?

And btw G version is now getting lots of development. It wont ever be as good as the real version but it's actually pretty decent in it's own right.

but i have a slight problem , when i updated to gingerbread 2.3.6 via OTA it went fine but then when i tried updating to ICS it gave me error while installing it and told me to connect to KIES but sadly kies is not connecting my device .. any tips?

the G one (warranty by teletec) cuz its the one which is available in Karachi as spent whole f**cking day searching for the origional one but all my efforts went into vain. Contacted Samsung people and they said there is not much difference between two and its the version which is supplied to Asian markets and dealers
