Worklog: Watercool build - Enthoo Prime

Hey All. Sharing a build im starting so could help those who may want to venture into it. Listing all parts to make it easier to know what goes into it.

First dive into watercooling so will document it a fair bit. Decided to try out a themed build, based off Optimus Prime.

Case is Phanteks - Enthoo Primo. Thus name of the project is Enthoo Prime.

Planned tube routing and airflow direction. Rear fans will be made as intake to allow the top radiator get more fresh air.

GPU waterblock is on. The Sapphire tri x r290 is the only non ref cooler that uses a reference design amd board. Thus no issues with the waterblock compatibility.

Time for the rads. Size comparison between the two.

Mounting the fans and testing them.

Reusing the 3 140mm non led phanteks fans that come with the case. The dont have any rubber mounts on them


Using hdd rubber mounts that Antec sent me for the p182 case, ty for sending a bunch Antec.

Cut them down to a better size

So glad I invested in a tool set before. Really pays off.

Hooked up the EPS/ATX before hand.

So these rads come with m3x30mm and 35mm length screws. The 35mm are too long. Had to get some washers

Had more issues with closing of the top mesh, as the increased height of the screws using washers would interfere. Used some 30mm screws from the other rad to avoid the problem.

The case stand is off and the monsta rad goes in.

Similar issue with the screw lengths. The case stand wouldnt sit right had to adjust some screws around.

Reused two Noctua NF-P12 fans that I have had for some years now.

Perfect fit. One 120mm fan is missing as its faulty, have to get it replaced.

Had to remove the gpu and ram to get these rads in.

480 rad is the monsta. Dont have 360, have 420 rad which is 45mm thick. Yes I will be going CF, cpu and mb in the loop. Overall yes a bit over with rads, but will allow me to run the fans more quieter.

Mounting the pump on the pump bracket wasn't a straight fit.

Tube bending time. Well this is what I came up with to help bend the tubes. Overall happy with the result.

My first ever tube bend.

Using Monsoon ruler kit, helped heaps

Below, the tube was actually further to the right during bending. Didnt place it back right for the pic.

After such a good start, finally messed one up. Overheated it.

Cant finalize the tubing right now as missing a critical part for the reservoir. Also waiting on some temp sensors and a quad block. Ordered the res part from amazon uk.

Imp to have the right silicon cord size. So the tube and silicon both from EK, inner diameter for the tube is 10mm while the silicon cord is 9.4mm

I used a bit of hand soap on the silicon so it inserts easily. Clean the tube and silicon before (wash). Pencil the area you want to heat, that would be the bend area. Dont heat the tube too fast using the heat gun, keep it around 2-3 inches from the heat gun. Keep rolling the tube to evenly apply the heat.

When the tube starts collapsing on its own weight then its about ready to be bent. Hold it in place for around 30sec for it to cool down and hold its shape.

IMP to wear some cotton type gloves as the tube gets hot. Keep the silicon in the tube if you will continue to make more bends. Hope this helps
