Wish to turn my TP-Link wifi router into an access point. Help please!

Brothers I wish to turn my TP-Link wireless router into an access point but can't figure out how to do it. I have tried several times but without any result. I request you to please help me solve this issue. Below are my information about my main router and the router I want to turn into an access point:


1- Main Router:


TP-LINK 3G/4G Wireless N Router 300Mbps - Model No. TL-MR3420

TL-MR3420 - Welcome to TP-LINK



2- Router I wish to turn into an access point:


TP-LINK Wireless N Router 150Mbps - Model No. TL-WR740N

TL-WR740N - Welcome to TP-LINK

An access point can be compared to an ethernet switch. Try finding a 'Bridged mode' option in the router that you want to turn into an access point.

you can put custom firmware on it. than you can use it as an access point. search for dd wrt firmware for your router.

I am not sure if WR740N can be a repeater. May be bridge mode and manually assigning IP/Subnet can solve your problem.

Its damn easy man, just follow these easy steps if you already don't know,
1) Make sure that DHCP is turned ON the Primary Router and not on the Secondary Router.
2) Take an Ethernet Wire and Plug it in your Main Router and its other End on that Second Router.
3) Both of the Routers should have their Different IP's like for eg: (Router IP should be: 192.168.2.1 & Router 2 IP should be :192.168.3.1)

Important Information:
You don't need put the other end of LAN Wire in to your Second Routers WAN port just put it in any LAN Port and it will work and act as an Access Point. Im using Three Modem + Router as an Access Points and my Main PTCL Router is the Core which in simple words is Modem + Router, by following my method and I'm 100% sure it will work for you as well as ive suggested this method to everyone here and they haven't faced a Single Problem.

You are very Welcome, well as for SSID you can type any name you like but they must not be same, as for the security key you can keep it same or different what ever you wish.
