the blue box! (Lahore')
Promises of increased user-friendliness, better browsing and an app store were made and it once again seemed the 6.5 could be the thing everyone was waiting for. And those leaked screenshots were pretty neat too.
It may not be Microsoft's fault but the buildup was bigger than the actual thing they delivered. The 6.5 is honestly a petty excuse of a new OS but maybe we were not supposed to expect a new OS in the first place. Microsoft may have a point in the end in their claims that 6.5 was not really part of their plan - just making up for Windows Mobile 7 taking to long. In a way, the WinMo 6.5 ending up a flop could be a good thing for users. That way Microsoft have no other options but get WinMo 7 right.
The other important circumstance in favor of Windows Mobile 6.5 is the hardware improvements that we've witnessed recently. The platform has long been criticized for its poor laggy performance but the 800MHz and 1GHz CPUs that makers are keen to use lately are handling it pretty nicely.
Responsiveness and fluidity used to be a huge bonus for competing platforms but now that WinMo performs so well, this argument is getting thinner and thinner and it's all about user-friendliness and usability.

Well..in my opinion win 6.5 and the expected launch of Winmo 7 next year can beat symbian easily.

In My Mind
Dood 6.5 beating Symbian not guite yet id say.........but yh symbian is tossed come next year whn winmo 7 comes out.

I my opinion i dont think symbian is a gud OS for touch phone period!but i dont think nokia is sweating it theyve already dumped symbian for Maemo.

But yh gotta say im kinda impressed with 6.5 microsft has done somewhat of a gud job with 6.5!Still needless to winmo 7 is make or break for microsoft.

No they haven't, Tablet phones have always got Maemo as their OS, Maemo isn't a new thing, it's Maemo 5 which is new. I don't think Nokia's gonna dump Symbian OS after spending millions on it for it's purchase.

And as for Win Mobile 6.5, it's not yet able to compete with the Symbian OS, because Windows is way wider platform as compared to Symbian. It can possibly compete with Mac OS X and Maemo 5 as of now.

Hmm nice review I'd say. And I think that its time, Symbian is stepping aside and Winmo is taking its place as the major OS. Symbian was once great, but ever since the Touchscreen Phones started pouring in like hell, I think that Symbian just let go of its legacy and let Winmo take its role.

Phil should be held responsible for this shitfest too, just like Sarah, but it's highly likely that these decisions are coming from Satya. And this isn't even the end of it. More closures are coming.

if we are moving towards more and more popular trash across platforms that make billions for companies, I'm happy with all the barriers and exclusivity because at least that brings some pressure to create good stuff.

I just want to say a giant F*** Y**! to Microsoft. THEY'VE F***ED UP BIG TIME this time.

Started Dead Island 2, and i find it pretty lame. The story is shit. The characters are either cringe or bland (all 6 of them), The gameplay isn't fun. Even the goddamn zombies don't behave like proper zombies. They're all fast & intelligent unlike how zombies are supposed to be like. Any fan of "zombie" genre cannot possibly like this shitfest of a game. Dying Light 2 was million times better than this shit.

tbh gaming industry as a whole is failing much like tech industry. They have buckled down too much to Corporate suites then relying on passionate and innovative people. A corporate only believes in financial growth and shareholders.
