I use it through a SATA/IDE to USB adapter.

I just want to know that will i be able to select this HDD while the installation process? or is there some other way.

I Google For You And Find These Two Ways Hope They Will Work U

In order to run Windows 7 from an external USB drive we are going to use vmware as Windows will refuse to install on an external USB drive, and thats exactly what we want to do, and what we are going to explain here.

When you try to install Windows 7 on vmware you will notice that the lsi-logic harddrive is not supported. Windows 7 will report that no harddrive is found.

In order to solve it, you need these lsi-logic drivers for vmware:
http://www.mediafire.com/?sharekey=de511730a5a4890aab1eab3e9fa335ca882c810ec02ccd96

Please notice that you find a flp file inside. That is a "floppy image" for vmware, so you have to select it from here:

Notice how the FLP image is selected as a floppy image, so we will be able to use those drivers to install Windows 7 on the SCSI harddisk.
Windows 7 setup boots but is unable to find a harddrive. Now click on "Load Driver" to load the driver that we used as the "floppy image":

Now the LSI SCSI harddisk is accesible and you can start installing Windows 7:
On an next blog entry we will replace the target virtual drive with the USB real one and we will see whats needed to be modified in order to use the real USB harddisk to boot Windows 7 from it :)

Installing Windows 7 Beta on an External USB Hard Drive

Submitted by BeauSanders on Sat, 01/24/2009 - 12:44
For the last three hours I have been working on a project to install Microsoft Windows 7 Beta on an external hard drive. My goal is to create a portable installation that I can use on various computers in order to demonstrate the latest operating system offering from Microsoft to students.
The following are my notes from this project:

  1. Downloaded the beta version of Windows 7 (Build 7000) from http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windows-7/; if you attempt this, be sure to select the correct version; it will take hours for the download to complete, but it does work very well; be sure to screen print or write down the product key; for multiple product keys press F5 key to refresh screen; burn the iso image to a DVD
  2. I first attempted to install Windows 7 directly to the external hard drive which was connected to my one year old computer via a USB2 port; the setup program found the external hard drive but did not install; I received an error message stating that it would not install to a USB hard drive
  3. I removed the hard drive from the external case and installed it on the PATA bus in my computer; the setup program would still not run correctly; as a last ditch effort I removed my RAID controller and two other USB devices from the computer and tried a third time to get the setup program to run which it did; the lesson learned is to install your destination hard drive in the computer and remove all non-essential hardware components while installing
  4. After about 45 minutes the setup program completed the install; the setup program interface is completely different than the Windows NT/2000/XP setup programs; be sure to carefully read each screen
  5. After the final installation reboot, updating of the OS, and rebooting yet again, I was able to login and run Windows 7; I did not do anything special other than browse the Internet with IE8 and look at the revised start menu; on first glance the Windows 7 looks very clean and intuitive
  6. Next I removed the destination hard drive from my computer, reassembled my computer back like it was originally; and installed the destination hard drive back in the external case
  7. I rebooted the computer after changing the boot sequence to boot to the USB hard drive; Windows 7 did NOT boot up, but rebooted itself after running the new "loading Windows" screen; I am assuming at this point that Windows 7 did not like all of the extra hardware my computer has installed which is no surprise; I am going to take the external hard drive to Greenville Technical College and attempt booting Windows 7 installed on the external USB hard drive on a simpler, but new, computer in one of our labs and see what happens; I will update this thread once I have more to report

Score 1 for game pass. I wouldn't pay full price for this at retail either.

Just downloaded my first legit digital PC game on GoG at a discount of $8: Two Point Hospital. The same team behind Theme Hospital Two Point Studios now part of Sega. And I am having more fun than most recent AAA games except of course BG3.

Still, I don't like either Sony or Microsoft as they are focusing more on corporate greed than delighting customers. PC gaming is best of gaming and worth every penny.

PC Gamer score of 58/100 for Hellblade 2??? Is it really worse than Gollum that was 64/100? Microsoft games can't even come close to high scores of Sony exclusives apparently.

About the Microsoft (and Sony) debate, I feel both have become too greedy and losing their minds over corporate greed. Personally, I will never buy any console next gen and switch to PC gaming where democracy reins.

did you try setting up Google Payments? For UBL you may have to get it enabled for internet transactions, Naya should work without it!

  • Aciel Aciel:
I tried both NayaPay, and UBL, but I keep getting "correct country selected..." error. I already have PK set there 🤦‍♂️

Nope. They have a very valid case. The above video explains it all.
