I have recently upgraded few components of my PC. After upgrading to 3770k and GTX680 from 2500k and GTX660 I feel I should get a better PSU as well. My current PSU Corsair VX450 is working fine and hasn't given any issues yet but I'm afraid I'm probably pushing it to the limit. I'm looking to upgrade the PSU to something more than 650W to keep good margin for future additions to the PC. However, lack of available options in PSU is making it difficult for me to get something suitable. I would have preferred a Modular PSU from Corsair but there is no option available in reasonable price and I don't like their GS series. That leaves me with following options.
1. Keep using the same Corsair VX450 PSU with my PC until it stops working. I won't overclock my CPU and GPU and won't increase any new component to my PC if I go with this option.
2. Get a good 600W+ PSU from PG marketplace if any good slightly used PSU becomes available. However, getting a used PSU is not my first choice and I'll consider it only if I get a really good deal.
3. Get Xigmatek Centauro 700W for 10k. Even though Xigmatek wasn't my first choice but considering the cost and 2 year warranty it looks like a good option. I would have preferred if the cables were ribbon style like in many other modular PSU.
4. Once I start thinking of getting Xigmatek 700W for 10k I start thinking that why not spend a bit more and get Corsair TX850 for 14k. I know this is an excellent PSU. But it's a bit too powerful for my rig as I don't think I'll be going for SLI or Crossfire in the foreseeable future. But it is significantly better PSU than other available options in similar price range so I'm thinking why not get a better unit now and have enough power for many future upgrades. However, it's not Modular and is only 80+ Bronze. I would have liked 80+ Gold in this price range.
5. Once I make up my mind of getting TX850 I start thinking why not spend more and get Corsair AX760 as it solves both problems I have with TX850 (modular and 80+ Platinum). I want it, but I really really don't want to spend so much on PSU :$
So, I want help of PC experts on PG in helping me decide which PSU to buy. I would love to know of any other options I haven't listed as I'm not aware of availability of other brands. But kindly don't recommend Coolermaster PSU.
I would love if most of the experts tell me to go for the first option
