i do ... i am trying for 5 times daily prayer but you miss a couple after a few days sometimes and that is when you would see such things in effect(what the article talks about)... my main is normally to go to the mosque 5 times daily but i go 4 times and once at home at fajar time as it is too dark in the streets and i literally need a flash light to navigate my way(i hate loadshedding)... i linked this article here as people are really really under that influence and we use these discussion as a norm and the values we need to uphold as something that we can ignore(it did about 3 people under complete control of satan 1. usurpers 2. people who forget their sins 3. gamblers)... we ask what is wrong with this nation? the simple answer is that we are bad muslims and the ones who can bring change(our youth) is fully under the cursed one's thumb

Nahing yaar, Har game mein music hota hai jo ke haram hai, Har game mein insaan ki pictures ya simulation hoti hai aur wo bhi haraam hai. Might be wrong on the latter but I believe that it is haraam. Har game mein dusron ka katal hota hai. AUr aap games pirate karte ho bare shauk se woh bhi haraam kaam hai.

I don't think anything is wrong with media. It is impossible to live without seeing anything media related in this digital age. And besides religion is not what our people make it to be. We have a long a long way to go when it comes to being better muslims, heck being better HUMANS. Instead of bickering over wether music is or is not haraam and other unimportant things, solve the bigger problems first; being just and honest and obedient and kind and caring towards people.

This forum is so infuriating sometimes. Ek tou thread wale kay mental level dekho phir app log bhi games aur music peh shuro hojao. You can stop playing games and listening to music and it will not make any difference in this world. What really matters is who you are with the people around you and with the being that created you. :S

This could have been a good thread.. I don't see anything wrong with the question. Masturbation is haram too right? So is watching movies, listening to music etc.

Comes down to content. A health and safety video or a presentation in a meeting room or a movie or porn, they are all "movies" but their effects are highly varied. I think it comes down to what you watch and WHY you watch it. This is a complicated world and you can not simply call something haraam or halal (except for some ofcourse). Most things are in the gray zone I think.

Like even in Islam, many things are haraam or halal based on context, I think the same applies now, someone more educated than me in religious matters can shed light on this?

I'm just sharing my perspective on the topic. Feel free to disagree.
I think the topic would've been more constructive if it was something like : Haram things we do, but should not.

Lets make it constructive ... I must admit that I'm struggling with offering 5 prayers a day, and my heart carries a heavy burden for it.
And I know the burden won't be lifted by movies, games, music, etc ... things that ppl indulge in, but will only be lifted if I discipline myself and offer my 5 daily.

Ok ... I write a lot, so I must stop now, and over to other users for constructive comments.

I appreciate your input, I do, but the thread was never conceived as something constructive.

Pic and animation thing is controversial, yes music haram, but to kill? Huh bhai asli log thori mar rahy ho.
Most importantly nudity, slang and abusiv language, etc etc yes they r haram.

If the only rationale behind that is cause you're not harming anyone in real life then why is virtual violence a-ok, but nudity and strong language in vidja games not cool.

Next time when you're on the street and you start hearing music, being a good muslim you should do everything in your power to stop the music even if that means resorting to mild violence. ANd if nothing else works you must find the nearest sand box or garbage can and put your head inside it so that your ears aren't tainted by the haraam music and you aren't denied entry into heaven.
