That is a pretty VAST topic, and a small definition is not enough. Google it, if you still don't understand, I'll try to explain.

P.s: Consciousness doesn't translate into human consciousness in this context. It basically, in mystic terms means, any aggregate of entities capable of consciousness, and thought process.

There's no such thing as subconscious, there's conscious, preconscious and unconscious. Subconscious is colloquial lingo synonymous with "not paying attention".

Anyway, collective unconscious is a Jungian concept which I (wrongly) assumed sshah meant to convey, whereas collective consciousness is a more sociological in nature, which again sshah didn't mean.

None of the above have anything to do with fucking your mom - that would be personal unconscious, something Freud was intensely involved in studying.

@Crow Okay, I just read it. If you apply it to philosophy, I don't think it is that far-fetched. They seem to be close in terms of individual interrelation. The only difference is the universal soul being the pool of all consciousness. Here is where it deviates greatly. This is also an interesting concept though. Maybe I should read about it more.

TBH, not much.

The psycho sexual stages are driven by the desire or thirst. Which are then satisfied by the sub-conscious or the unconscious by dreaming or imagining?
