I thought I'd start off this list to help people discover software they might not otherwise. I'll start it off.
1) Bittorrent software - Qbittorrent
2) Clipboard manager - Ditto (the new update has made the UI much nicer)
3) LAN music streaming - Subsonic (Koel is nice too but it's not as polished as Subsonic at this point)
4) Download manager - Free download manager
5) Local file search - Listary (I find listary much better than "Everything" for daily use, but Everything is superior when searching for a specific file among many similar files, since you can sort them by size, modified date etc.)
6) Web server - WAMPServer (I've always had some niggles with XAMPP and AMPPS, but WAMP works every time)
7) Music player - Musicbee hands down. Nothing else comes close.
8) Video player - PotPlayer. I used to use MPC-HC black in Kawaii Codec Pack which was nice too, but PotPlayer just works AND has more advanced features when you need them.
9) Text editor - Notepad++. Very ugly but definitely a great text editor. Atom is good too if you're running an SSD because it has a much nicer interface, but it lacks some features that Notepad++ has out of the box.
10) SSH client - mRemoteNG. Tabbed sessions and WinSCP integration. Liked it better than Kitty.
11) Basic video editing - Shotcut and Kdenlive
12) Comparing videos - Kinovea
13) Text search many files - AstroGrep. One of the prettiest apps I've used on windows and VERY fast.
14) Bulk renamer - Bulk Rename Utility
Also, some things I'm running on a tiny VPS that are REALLY useful:
1) Polr - Self-hosted URL shortener. You can hook up a .bat script to a shortcut like Alt+Shift+S that brings up a cmd prompt where you just paste your URL and you get a shortened URL. Very handy.
2) Jirafeu - Simple file-hosting
That's all I can come up with for now. If anyone's using a piece of software they feel is helpful, please do share.
