They had a big stage set up for the GTA concert but decided to to do the whole awards show from a tiny room. An increasingly bitter Joel McHale was the only highlight of the night.

Lamest VGA show ever.
I liked the old award type setting. This new private hosting type setting was lame. Jeff from community was like a Robot hosting the show. Had lots of boring talks. Awards were lame too. Some acceptance videos were fun though.
The previews were cool, although new surprising stuff was very little. No man's sky and Telltales Game of thrones were awesome announcements.
Witcher 3, Division, Quantum break, Destiny etc all look great.

All awards were user-voted, GTA V is always going to win in a popularity contest.
Atleast Naughty Dog won best developer of the year award and thanks to it we got that Antonio banderas gif Joel version.
Studio of the Year doesn't amount to much in this case since the studio's game neither won GoTY nor the Best Adventure Game award.
I would say this year's VGX was set to be the biggest ever. 3 whole hours of non-stop video gaming content being streamed over numerous popular platforms spread out across the world. Whereas in previous years you only had the show broadcasted on Spike. This year they had everything going right for them. They just missed the mark on actually delivering content. And I'm sad because it may not have been their fault at all. Maybe developers just slacked off (or were constrained with deadlines) to create something good to showcase at this event.
Still, its better than nothing. I knew GTA would win GOTY award, its popularity trumps all.
I dont know which other content you guys were anticipating. They showed almost everything there is new.

I think Witcher Trailer was epic, so are the Titanfall Class previews. Then there is Telltale's new title, and the Nintendo game. The Destiny gameplay trailer and stuff.

just saw the complete show,not loving this new concept without an audience. At least something new came out of it,really wana see the GoT game,telltale better not fuck it up,i dont want another Walking dead episode (as good as it was,i like more freedom,its basically a visual novel) and then that No mans sky,just WOW! Freaking huge,and only 4 guys? BS. Still it looks awesome and is huge if what they are saying is true. IT will take a lot of time to finish though. What a nice surprise.
Except how awkward game developers can be in front of a camera. That's what PR people (and Reggie) are for.
