Ok so I had a Core i3 530 with an Asus motherboard since like 3 years. Now that the motherboard's gone bad I had 2 choices:
1) Spend 8k on a LGA1156 motherboard.
2) Upgrade to Core i3 3320 plus Intel board for 15k.
I upgraded finally but haven't used my PC yet and I'm wondering if I made the right decision? Keep in mind this build is basically for watching movies, browsing and light gaming (buy light I mean I have university coming up so won't be gaming so much).
Build:
Core i3 3320
Intel DH61WW (Chose this because of warranty, my first intel board )
6GB RAM (Not sure why I did this, should have gotten 4GB) Should I change the stick back to 4GB for dual channel or leave it be?
Sparkle GTX460
Xigmatec NRP502 500Watt PSU
HAF922
I'm wondering what sort of performance I can expect from this at 720p. I haven't used this PC since more than an year (was abroad) so I have no idea about how power hungry the latest titles are.
Plus I will be changing to a 24" IPS soon, will this build still have enough power for 60FPS gaming at 1080p with medium graphics?
