Ok , all of us have had are share of killing our PCs or Hurting it real bad , it may have been when you were building a new rig , or upgrading it , or just taking messing around.

Its time to let it all out , tell us your story so we all know how stupid you are



Here is my Story


Its the same time of the year each year , when i do something stupid and almost kill my whole PC , this time i avioded it cause i dont have my gaming PC with me

But exactly this time last year , on my last gaming rig i took of my gpu( dont know why) and tried to run my pc on the built in Graphics chip and it ran , then i put the GPU back in and just when im about to plug in the vga cable i touch the side of the case and i see sparks , i ignore em n connect the GPU n tats it ,, screwd it up , when i boot the pc i see coloured blocks all over the screen


Another time i wanted to hear how my hard drive sounded , i took it out of the case put it on the table , and booted the pc , i have long hair , n when ever i brought n ear near the hard i hread this ,, wooooing sound (like electricity running through a transformer) , i do that like 3 or 4 times more n hear the same sound each time , then i thnk for a sec and realize its the static from my hair , n im like fuck ( n get that familiar feeling )
luckily nothing happened , i booted the pc several times and have been using it like 5 months after that incident

only had 1 screw up.... i connected ATA cable is wrong position, booted up the PC, HDD got fried... HDD literally smoked

it was a pretty expensive hdd and wasn't available at that time... i think it was 600MB western digital on a 486 PC

i remove intel stock hsf to clean it, after cleaning i was trying to put it back but it wasn't sitting in place!!
i tried and tried but no success i got angry and just pushed it to hard and ended up with one leg of HSF broken.

It happend to me many times I pooped up alot of PCs. It was mine , My friends and My cousins.

Got an hsf broken .
Ran a psu on 110v switch lol i was in 8th class at that time it smoked my motherboard.
Got a pin on the processor to bent the shingtech luckily made the processor work and last year was coming from hostel to home and as i had a desktop so i didnt screw all the things the hdisk hit mobo and had to lash bios again.
apart from that just got my x750f mouse cable to go wrong . and just yesterday i saw that because of bending my sennheiser hd205 headphone cable has cracks now i have applied scotch tape to it.

Lol well luckily i havent fried anything as of yet and i hope it stays that way...lol but reaper that static hair thing was the funniest story ive hrd lol good one

well i have never messed up a pc myself(no hardware atleast)... i am too careful with the hardware normally to screw anything up and don;t take unnecessary risks... but i have a habit of getting angry while gaming.... and boy have i smashed up a lot of stuff before... i have broken countless keyboards and mice and monitors.... i used to hit the crts so hard that they would be thrown back at the wall and would be smashed up from behind with smoke coming out(never broke the screen... maybe the glass is too strong)...to counter monitor breaking habits i bought a 30kg 21" dell monitor and i didn't break a monitor again.... after i broke my three expensive mice(deathadder,ikari laser,salmosa) all at the same time with my steel series headphones and razer keyboard.... i have been sober for about 4 months.... lets hope i don't break my mx518 and da again...

oh yes yes i forgot... i once fried my psu.... it had a setting of 110-220v behind it... it was a chinese psu and for funsake i just changed it to 110v... some molten liquid and smoke came out of it... only had to spend 500 rs for a new once from topi(i was in giki and islamabad was too far)....

Well i was angry once, so angry that i picked up my monitor (17" Flatron LG) and chucked it down so hard that it should trash but Than Gawd .... Nothing happened...
Not even a single scratch...... Unbeliveable
But that was the last time, Not i control my anger to its limit

oh & I havent friend any Chips Yet (Allah Karo kuch na he ho to behtar hay )

It happened to me two years ago.

I was cleaning the casing through a blower. I, then took out the molex connector from the hard drive (for shugal i think lol). Didn't connected it back properly. Boot up the PC. No display :S. At the time, i smelled something weird from the casing. Opened it. Hard drive got fried lol. Then i noticed that the molex connector wasn't connected properly. Maybe it was due to some other reason.

Its was a 20GB Seagate drive.

well ummm i heard a noise from my pc n i thought it was comin from my hard n it was , but when i put my head near it i heard this woing or goung noise , like electricity in a transformer ,

i could hear the hard working , but when i took my ear near the hard it woinged at me again

but i stopped n thought wth is goin on n realized it was static from my hair


i know it must have weakened my pc like some resistors or chips or sumthn but shukar hai its still working




also one time a friend brought his hard to me , he wanted windows installed

i installed the hard into my case but didnt realize that the bast was touchin the case

i switched the pc on , n after like a min i saw smoke , i jumped up n pulled the wire from the socket in the wall , flipped the hard : P n it had a hole like 4 mm in the bottom in the circuitry

haha have done many things on my PC
on my last mobo the P4
i just intalled some ram and then switched on the cpu
i didnt knwo about that little swtch that 110-220v one
i just in amazment did that and boom the psu got blewthe pc was running
luckily the psu only got fried
bought a new psu for 50 sar

after that once on the p35 mobo...i was measuring from the tape measure the pc was running.what hieght of cpu cooler should i buy fro the q6600
the steel side of touched the mobo.
i didnt noticed that it was touching..
and then black smoke and the smell of burning..
it was the mobo that was burning
the computer restarted..
beeping noise came..and then i jumped and switched the psu off.
after that there was the blak part on the mobo..
luckily everything worked fine

I also did something similar with the stock hsf on my 4400+x2. I was trying to sit it on the processor and I had no idea that it needed to hook first to the other side and I pushed it so hard that lever of the hsf got curved and couldn't seat it after that.

Umm my OLD OLD PC had a Philips 104E monitor... It stopped working after 4 (lol) or so years. I used to hit it hard with a cricket bat to make it work :lol:

I got two things:

Both are hardware..but not exactly "PC"

1) My Dad's super expensive Xenon Printer: With the scanner and Whatnot: Keep in mind the printer was bought from America (110V)
What happened was my friend came over..and wanted me to print something, so I plugged the printer in DIRECTLY without a converter. (I forgot) and turned it on, suddenly smoke started coming...I got scared, and quickly turned everything off..and then turned it on again..but this time with a converter. I did not work. Now I was like super scared... so after about 2-3 hours, my dad needs to print something..and the printer is not working..he asks me whats wrong with it..and I tell him.."I don't know..maybe it got messed up because of the Voltage fluctuation" he buys it..and opens the printer up and sees that the Fuse has been fried..so he goes to the market and gets a fuse...and puts it in the printer and BOOM...smoke starts to come out..the whole printer is fried. lol.

And nobody knows what I did till this day (Family)

2) PS2: I was playing a game it froze..so I got very angry and started smacking and puching the PS2, and the game started working again. But now after every 10-15mins ALL the games that I played would freeze..and I would punch and smack the PS2. After a couple of days..my 6 year old PS2 did not work at all. So I Opened it and cleaned it. But I was not successful. So I went to repair it..and the man charges 2K. I got it after a week..and it would not recognize the games..so I opened it again and saw that all the parts were different..then my previous opening and some parts were even broken The damn repair man took all the good parts.
