Goes to show that you should never judge a show by the size of its nose.

One thing I really like about the show is how every character is always sweating or has stress lines on their forehead no matter which side of the gamble they're on. Whether they think they're winning or losing, everyone is shown sweating excessively which is how it should be. Your stress isn't immediately alleviated when you think you're winning, it's a struggle through out.

Ultimate Survivor Kaiji​

Here's an actually underrated anime that I've recently gotten into. It's a real gem. Just listen to this track. It just makes you want to put it all on the line, ante up, go for broke. That's the whole theme of the show. Kaiji's another victim of the Japanese recession that came after its economic bubble burst in the early 90s. A reject of society with no hope of a better future. The only way he can get out of a massive debt, courtesy of his friend, is to play wicked games of chance with other rejects for the enjoyment of the societal elite. Each new game increases the risk exponentially, and with nothing to use as collateral, you can only gamble with your life.

The show might look light hearted with its unorthodox artstyle but there's a real gut puncher under the surface. With real stakes, real plays, and real loses. Tons of "on the edge of your seat" stuff that's compounded by its awesome tracks and the author's iconic "Zawa Zawa". It's a damn shame this show isn't as popular as it should be. It's got a lot of heart, a lot of tears, and a lot of noses.

So I finally started to watch it, since I had nothing else to watch and it was taking away my ssd space, almost done with season 1 in two days =P

And I have to agree this anime is severely underrated, I kinda regret not watching it sooner, seriously this anime is gold!!

The only thing I dont like about this anime is the art style , it doesn't go well with how serious the story is, but I guess you get used it...

Any1 seen this...? It was a cliffhanger which kinda pissed me off.. <_< but over all not that bad of an anime...
it had some ecchi moments i guess you can say too much ecchi xDD but still it was good over all.. decent plot and all somewhat likable characters and stuff..

Agreed, especially about Wolf's Rain. Highly underrated in my opinion. I watched it ages ago but loved it.

Last Exile

I watched it long ago but I remember how surprised I was when the anime ended as I was not expecting it to be this good. It wasn't popular or anything when I decided to watch it and turned out to be quite a great watch. Starts slow, but gets better and better as the world opens up and characters gets developed. Great soundtrack and the feel of its world. I've never seen people talk about it, which is a shame cause I think more people need to watch it. Highly underrated in my opinion.

I better give it a re-watch as well seeing how long it has been.

I have yet to watch the second series though i.e Last Exile: Fam, the silver wing.

Yep. It was OK overall IMO. Enjoyed the detailed gore and some of the echhi.
Characters were too unlikable for me, for the most part though.

Oh I remember this, it was the first super edgy anime I saw before elfen lied or deadman wonderland and like those shows it was pretty trashy. The only thing it had going for it was the action scenes which were marred by the dumb CG during the final few fights, so not even that.

Anyways I havent watched the gantz anime but I've watched Gantz live action movie, which is pretty good for a anime movie, so you should definitely check it out, if you liked Gantz

Not sure if I have recommended this before but Cross Game is definitely one of the underrated anime which is a masterpiece imo. Worth a try.

Name is "Kingdom" and this anime is based on chinese war era similar to the ones based on Japan's meiji era (i guess, oda nobunaga? date masamune?). This anime has 2 seasons..., both of them have awesomeN plot and action. DAMN ;s The first season is CGI tho so you gotta bear it but this Abuses will lead to ban thing was awesome, never found any anime like this. Not to mention it's a cliff-Abuses will lead to ban-hanger

IDK if it was mentioned before, But "Classroom Chaos" wasn't a bad watch. It started of really slow, so most people got turned off by it. However it really took off by around the 3rd episode, and turned into a really nice show!
