Salam PG brothers. After a long wait, the PS4 Pro is finally here. I bought it on launch and thought I'd share it with you all. Enjoy.
I still have a crap load of games to try out on my 4K TV with HDR! I will update this thread to give you my honest opinion in the coming days!
My 4K TV: Sony Bravia (XBR43X800D). Its the perfect balance between features, future proofing and price.
INITIAL IMPRESSIONS OF THE PRO:
Battlefield 1: on the standard PS4, the graphics were already pretty awesome. What was hindered was the frame rate in MP.
The PS4 Pro bumps everything up a notch. Difference was immediately apparent. The graphics were much more cleaner and sharper. Textures just seemed more detailed and antialiasing helped bring a more solid graphical experience. The frame rate was even more of an important improvement. It held a very steady and smooth fps. Overall, this is a definitive console experience for Battlefield 1
Titanfall 2: this game is already optimized to run like a champ on standard consoles. Aside from slightly sharper textures and better antialiasing, everything else was the same. So overall, not a big difference from standard consoles.
The Last of Us: OMG- that's all I can say. I'm playing this game again after 3 years in 4K+HDR mode. The last time my jaw dropped like this was in 2007 when I saw Modern Warfare for the first time. TLoU looks incredible on this machine! The textures are ultra sharp! You need to see it in person to know what I mean. The HDR color is fantastic. Its not like the colors are extra bright or something. On the contrary....the colors are more blended; more realistic. The green on trees is definitely a shade we haven't seen on a TV before. Again, this is something you need to see in person.
Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare: I didn't have high hopes for this game going in but I was thoroughly surprised by the graphical fidelity. The level of detail was striking; with top notch anti-aliasing and big bump in texture resolution. All the bells and whistles we graphic Abuses will lead to bans love is nicely packaged with a ribbon. I also noticed a much lower input lag which made the entire gameplay feel fresh. Highly recommended to try out on the PS4 Pro!
Later on I'll try Rise of the Tomb Raider, Uncharted, Infamous and Fallout 4 and let you guys know.
