So my 7970 was being a hot mess. i decided to cool it off with an aftermarket HSF.
The stock powercolor cooler is goof but it just isnt good enough because it goes up to 85-90C at stock clocks and didnt really have any vrm cooling either.

prepping the card for the transplant
after an hour of fiddling around with the VRM and Memory heatsinks and waiting for the thermal epoxy to dry. Transplant was successful.
and finally back into its tiny home (Silverstone PS-08)
it was a tight squeeze, had to remove one of the front fans to make room for it. but in the end it slotted in nicely.
