It's been two years since I bought my old laptop which I also posted an unboxing thread about. So now, I decided for a little upgrade. Technically got it a few days ago, but only just now decided to make a thread about it. Oh well better late than never :D


Specs:



Originally came with 2x4GB of RAM upgraded to 2x8GB Corsair Vengeance 1600MHZ RAM. HDD came with 2x500GB Solid-state hybrid drive, I swapped them out for a Corsair Force GT 120GB SSD + 750GB HDD.

The only reason I bought an Alienware laptop is the ability to upgrade GPUs and the fact this particular model has another MXM slot for SLI. I didn't buy a desktop because of the loadshedding problem and a laptop was better suited for my needs.

Nothing can be more orgasmic then an Alienware lappy =D Congrats man how much did it cost with the upgrades ?

Congratulations.

How are the temps. on gaming load?

Replace the 460M with 580M then it would be perfect. :D

Well it never goes above 60 degrees when gaming even during long gaming sessions. Idle temp is 36 degrees

Yeah I have been scoping out the 580m on eBay but it's rather expensive at the moment just waiting for the 600 series to go mainstream then I'll buy the 580m with the price drop.

Those temps. are the shiznizzle! :D

Use the 460M in sli for PHYSX when you get the other chip.

    170 + countries where Steam sells but PSN doesn't will lose access unless they use VPN
