No i didnt get static IP.

They have got the permission for residential phase 3 and also I think phase 4. Just need to lay down the fiber before they can start giving connections. My home is right next to the commercial area and also had a DP for that nearby so they provided me with special approval and installed the connection.

They give an android box for IPTV its expensive. I can only compare with Wateen who have good TV services. TW do have a lot more HD channels with Bein sports as well. Switching channels is not as fast as cable/digital cable but still bearable that it doesnt feel annoying. I talked to their COO Lahore as well he said they were planning on partnership with iflix and Starz play in a few months so that something to look forward to. Oh they have netflix preinstalled as well which is supposed to even work in HD (chinese unlicensed boxs dont have HD netflix) i saw it working in their office.
Hey man, congrats on your new connection!

I had a few questions about their IPTV services.

Whats their android box like? model number wagaira koi?

Does the TV stream use up internet bandwidth? For example if I'm watching Live TV, would it affect my internet speeds? What if I'm watching Netflix on their android box?

Is there an EPG?

Android box seems like a generic chinese one, small black. But decent enough i have installed apps on it and they work great no stuttering or anything. If you want detail specs like OS version ram, rom etc i can give that later
No TV stream has no effect on internet whatsoever. They have nerflix pre installed on their box i dont use it but saw them testing in their office was streaming in HD. But ofcourse using netflix will affect your internet speed as its using internet (unless they have done something that their box has dedicated something but highly doubt it)

No EPG, atleast i didnt find any. Plus i dont know if anyone provides EPG on local channels.

Installed terrium app and watched deadpool on it in HD didnt buffer once.

Although it looks like there is something wrong with the DNS (or my PC) figuring it out. Website would give error loading and then load on refresh wierd.

EPG: PTCL does. Oddly. Not the best implementation, but it's there.

As for th STB: it only allows you to browse channels, and install some Android apps? Does it have a time-shift feature? DVR? How would you compare it with PTCL's offering in terms of SD video quality (not HD) and other features?

Browse channels it is. Time shift featue i dont think so. DVR they did tell me they had but since i dont use it i didnt try finding . But i dont think they have DVR. Its a simple iptv. But again these are early days like literally a few days since they launched so i am sure they will improve with customer suggestions which they seem to listen.

Regarding comparing it to PTCL i last used ptcl when they had just started and had a weird kinida box which had very slow switching channels. Their feed is similar to the one wateen uses meaning decent SD channels and same low quality sd channels that the rest provide like cartoon network etc but they do have more HD channels BEIN 11,12,13 sports, Disney channel in HD as well. Along with other HD channels that wateen also used to provide e.g discovery science

You know the best thing is stability, ping is like 5-15ms better than wateen BUT its stable with very little fluctuation or none with no packet loss resulting in smother and consistent online gameplay.
Oh and did I tell you that with other people using the internet at home there is hardly any impact on the ping. Like with wateen run a ping to 8.8.8.8 and start a speed test as soon as the upload part started ping would go in 1000s with packet loss. With transworld the impact is like 5-10ms extra max.

Can you share some screenshots of local and international speed tests. If possible can you make a video pertaining to Transworld speed tests.

Just tell me which county/ servers speed test you want and I will try to do them. From my testing on various international servers on average get around 18-19 . The minimum speed is on some servers of test my.net which is around 13. Otherwise literally every other test the speed is over 18 if not close to 20. On dslreports speed test the bufferbloat rating is A+. On overwatch the maximum ping is around 220ish on American server but still stable. Even australia ping on dslreports shows around 195.

Just got TW GPON installed, and I have to say I am extremely impressed with everything.

They arrived exactly at 11 AM, as promised. Started work immediately, the thicker fiber cable only came till the gate, and the drop cable used from the gate to the inside of the house was a much thinner drop cable. It was installed very neatly, clips/ducts were used wherever necessary.

The ONT they provided is a slightly newer model of the Huawei one that was given to other customers. It can't be wall mounted, so I found a really small table to put it on. The exact model number is the Huawei HG8425Q2, there is no info about it online, so I'll post a picture in a bit.

Once the cables were connected, the connection was active immediately unlike the whole day that I had to wait with PTCL. It was configured automatically and the ONT started working on the first boot. I asked about Static IP, and they said I had to call, which I did, and they said between 24-48 hours I'll get a call and an email from TES about Static IP activation. For now, I'm still under their CGN.

The guy tried running a few speedtests on his phone, but it wasn't going above 40 Mbps on 2.4GHz, but since this is a dual-band ONT, I told him to connect to the 5G band to test, and then tested again using ethernet, got the full 70 Mbps down and 70 up.

He checked optical power to make sure it was within normal ranges, did a few more tests, asked if I was satisfied and then proceeded again to check all the cabling outside and ask me if everything was okay about it.

Very professional guys, they did cut up a few cables, but unlike PTCL who just left them around, these guys cleaned up after themselves, had all of their own tools, and did a very neat job.

More to say when I've actually used it for downloading, streaming and gaming.
