Hows community?
Community is a great comedy series, the kind which I prefer over the usual laugh track ones. It's witty, it has great character set, and it has some of the best spoof episodes I've seen in a comedy series.

The first three seasons were awesome, I LOVED THEM. Then it fell victim to corporate issues, the creator left, season 4 was made with someone else helming it. And while it wasn't bad, with some really good episodes, you could tell it was a hefty dip in quality overall.

Luckily, the creator returned for season 5 and it was a blast. Then it got cancelled, but after a while, Yahoo picked it up and they made a final season 6, which, while not on the level of season 4, still felt pretty low in quality compared to the earlier ones. Other issues that plagued the show was the slow and steady departure of some of the main cast after season 3, which obviously left a dent since the group as a whole was what made the show.

Still, all in all, it is a great comedy, even with its bumpy road after season 3, and I would recommend it to anyone wanting to watch a good comedy series, especially a not your typical laugh track comedy one.

Big Bang Theory (First three seasons. Went downhill after that.)
30's Rock

Give the above two a try. You'll like em.

We have all pretended that we are just about to start Leo Tolstoy's epic war romance tome set in 19th century Russia. We have had this in our to read lists more years than it took Tolstoy to write this.

Maybe that is an exaggeration.

Anyhow. I decided to watch this series, and not other adaptations because of two main reasons: 1) I knew I was kidding myself and there was no earthly reason I was going to read this book despite being a huge book lover, 2) this was a modern adaptation with a few familiar names and I have a soft spot for BBC miniseries.

It turned out to be a good decision.

I enjoyed this miniseries immensely. It was gorgeous to look at with some grade A cast. There are a lot of major characters and I assume there are even more in the book, but the series does a valiant job of combining the threads and making them plausible. I was not lost or confused for one single moment. As a matter of fact I immediately had a sense of where the major action was taking place and who the big players were. There are issues with pacing but overall it moves at a brisk pace because there is a lot of ground to cover. There are many plots and subplots to keep you engaged and your attention to not dither.

There are some obvious standouts like Lily James as the protagonist Natasha, entangled in a love triangle that comes close to being a quadrilateral at one point. James Norton and Paul Dano as Andrei and Pierre are just too good and there are two scenes with them that are filled with tremendous dialogues. Tom Burke steals the show in several scenes he is in. The war scenes are terrifically shot and you get a sense of horrors and ravage that warfare causes.

There is a bit of everything in this: love stories and romance, marital politics and intrigue, infidelity, war, peace, war again, balls and high society functions. This is a well made miniseries which, for me, served as a substitute for the book I will always say I am going to read but never will. Thank you, BBC!

Absolutely agree. The first 3 seasons are inspired. The gags get funnier, the characters evolve, the homages and pop culture references are aplenty and amazing.

The quality kept dipping after that, and it never reached the lofty highs of its first three seasons, but still a solid comedy.

Can anyone help me find a sitcom. I guess I am done with all the good ones.
Watched FRIENDS, HIMYM, BIG BANG THEORY, THAT 70s Show, 2 and half men. Loved all of them except Big Bang which is below average.
Can't find any new, please suggestions.
PS, I tried Community didn't liked it much.

Started Dead Island 2, and i find it pretty lame. The story is shit. The characters are either cringe or bland (all 6 of them), The gameplay isn't fun. Even the goddamn zombies don't behave like proper zombies. They're all fast & intelligent unlike how zombies are supposed to be like. Any fan of "zombie" genre cannot possibly like this shitfest of a game. Dying Light 2 was million times better than this shit.
