Well guys, i have given up. Launched a complain back in Ramadan regarding slow browsing. YES !! slow browsing meaning erratic behavior or sometimes page is un responsive. Can happen while surfing to any site. Anyhow, PTCL representative came and ironically when ever they came stupid internet becomes responsive for that particular hour . I would tell the guy that i will keep it on observation for the day and as soon as he leaves it starts to happen again. Downloading is fine, line parameters are ok Alhamdulillah but browsing (n)(n). Khair, so after keeping this complain live for almost a month, the exchange guys started to beg for closure of the complain. Few visits happened, problem still persists and i'm tired of pressing 2 so i resolved it. I have no idea what to do now? FYI my connection is on VDSL. Can anyone let me know what should i do? just keep refreshing pages for the rest of my life or launch another complain which would lead to nothing but idiots visiting my place.

Just a question, which DNS do you use?

And does this issue occur on WiFi only, or WiFi and LAN as well?

I have changed the DNS to 8.8.8.8, Issue occurs on wifi and wired both. I have connected an external dual band router with ptcl modem. Though i have tried connecting to PTCL modem directly but still no luck.

Change DNS to 1.1.1.1, open CMD and type:

ipconfig /flushdns

Then restart your PC.

What IP pool are you assigned?

I meant the IP assigned from PTCL.

I'm on PC now, so I can see you're using the 39.50 IP pool. Haven't heard any complaints from other users on this pool.

Have you tried personally visiting the exchange and explaining the issue to someone 'technical' over there? No guarantee that they will listen, but it's worth a try.

Nope i haven't tried that, yes i have been assigned that IP 39 wali. Well exchange having a technical guy is like sending tom dick or harry for resolutions. A guy came few days back and started putting blame on my external router saying that the gateway is different, can you imagine that? I told him my internet is slow and downloading is fine so how can it be an issue of gateway!!

So what is the recommended DNS server these days? I was on Cloudfare before, but it was suggested here that Google is better.
Cloudfare having too many outages every now and then. Websites tend to load slower or not opening at all. Archive.org was completely blocked from their end worldwide. Google is performing relatively better at the moment.

Google.

Check 3rd post of this thread btw.

Default DNS sucks. Utter garbage. Times out way too often and doesn't work anywhere near as reliably as the big ones like Google and CloudFlare.

Probably because there is hardly any maintenance for local DNS servers. Works fine for a day and then times out the next day. They keep changing it.
