CloudFlare in Pakistan seems to be having an outage, KHI and ISB are re-routed, and running a traceroute gets routed to a European data center:

Probably some internal issue with PIE which is what caused CloudFlare to re-route in the first place.

Okay PTCL has really confounded me this time.

The speedtest results are normal 25/25 down and up for a 25mb GPON line, but browsing is clearly erratic, sometimes pages don't load, websites are quite slow to load.

What the heck is going on? Is PTCL being fucky right now for anyone else?

Edit: Also I think i'm having some packet loss. How does one check fo packet loss/ transmission errors in these new huawei GPON ONTS?

While I don't have PTCL (I use Nayatel instead, which relies on PIE), I am also facing issues.

Browsing issues here as well, and slow downloads on some servers.

Can you post a traceroute to 8.8.8.8 (while connected via LAN, not WiFi) and post it here?

As for packet loss checking, I have yet to come across such a feature on Huawei ONTs. Even if it exists, it is probably blocked / hidden for users and only accessible to the ISP itself.

For other users, in any city of Pakistan, can you guys post a traceroute of 8.8.8.8?

It's a PIE issue. TW performing fine as usual. Thank god I changed my upstream to TW from PIE. I have always felt huge difference surfing the internet using PIE, websites are slow as fuck and there are constant packet losses to certain servers. 1.1.1.1 seems to be working fine too.

Yes I confirmed that the issue isn't present on TW.

I don't want to ask Nayatel to switch me to TW now, they seem to be working with PIE on fixing the issue.

Expect your pings to be lowered by 12-20 ms at max.

A lot of websites I think. Reddit is wonky. Every other random website seems to be bugging out, speedtest etc.

Facebook, youtube seem to be fine. I'm guessing amazon cloud hosted stuff is down?

Everything is all good on Jazz which uses TW.

The first set of pings is terrible, second is normal.

Were you connected over WiFi the first time?
