Need some info here! I was told by my lineman that in order to get VDSL my copper wire needs to be replaced as the old one can't support VDSL. Secondly ( The lineman saying) it will be impossible to get VDSL on existing phone number, in short, I should have to apply for a new number or give him some bribe to enable it on the existing number. Kindly help me in this matter.

If he is asking for bribe then contact 1218 and complaint him to them. Make sure you have his full name and his phone number.

Yes VDSL requires a new wire and a new modem. You just have to call 1218 and ask them to change your number to Fiber and it will work.

Well. Whenever i did upgradation of my package. Each time they forgets to add downstream of smart tv then it becomes nightmare to get smart tv bandwidth from them. So thats y sticking to dsl 8mb. N once i have enough patience then go for this exercise.

Vdsl not available. M waiting for it.

modem and wire will be replaced. however you don't need to get a new PTCL landline number for VDSL as mine was never changed as well.

Anyone having issues with ping spikes in lahore? I've been having high pings of around 140ms when speedtesting and it's causing unusually high pings in different games. Already complained and it's been 4 days with no answer. Any idea what's going on? Line stats are all good.

Guys everyday after 9 pm ping shoots up, smart tv app stops working and buffering also starts for iptv, any solution? On 20 mbps vdsl

What's the usual download speed users get with a 20mbps connection? Is it a complete 20mb or somewhere around 18?

yup,upload speeds have been doubled.
getting 11.xx mbps uploads on speed tests and line rate has been changed from 5xxx to 10xxx...clearly shows upload speeds have been doubled...i am on 20mb vdsl...my downloads ranges from 2mb/s to 2.5mb/s depending on sources

He is most likely fishing for some money. I was upgraded to VDSL on the same number as I had before, although the drop cable did get changed. Make sure to not pay your lineman anything. You will get charged for all expenses in the next month's bill.

That's a good step ahead of doubling up the upload speeds. I am on 20MB VDSL. Will check after getting back to home today.
