I have used Kill Ping and WTfast. WTfast is better imo because its more stable and i hardly face any lag spikes with WTfast. For Asian servers i use the Singapore VPN server and get 110-130ms ping and for EU i get around 140-160ms ping. I play Rainbow 6 but i assume that these VPNs works for various other games. I only use VPN for EU as im currently getting good ping to Asian servers on PTCL.

From where ? which location you set? and how much you get on chaina and hongkong and japanese servers?

Im in Lahore i use Singapore VPN server and get around 140ms to China and 180-190ms to Japan.

I am facing strange issue on my ADSL2 4mb link. During daytime the speeds drop greatly and SNR margin is around 6 db but at night SNR margin increases automaticall and speeds get to normal. Also sometimes after internet gets connected the SNR gets increased automatically. Right now I am only getting around 2 mb speeds on 4 mb link. I registered a complaint a few days ago and they refreshed the port but still the problem persists. My line seems okay and there is no noise at all so I am uncertain what to do about it. Can anyone help?

My PTCL Modem/Router: ZTE H168N
My dedicated router: UBNT EdgeRouter X

How do I configure my PTCL device to be on modem mode only and pppoe via my dedicated router?

If I try to create a new WAN interface what interface do I select?
Do I also disable dhcp on ptcl device?

You'll need a br (Bridge) profile with the appropriate VPI/VCI if you're on ADSL and VLAN ID if you're on VDSL, along with your PPPoE login credentials.

Delete the existing WAN profile and create a new WAN profile and then choose Bridge mode instead of PPPoE and then in your dedicated router create a WAN connection with PPPoE mode and use your credentials from PTCL to make the connection. No need to do anything else. The NAT is only enabled in the PTCL modem if you connect to internet directly otherwise it's not.

your line stats are not upto mark.
on 4mb profile,your downstream snr should be 300+ minimum and 150+ on upstream.

your line has too much attanuation,make sure the main wire from street pole to your modem is joint free,avoid in wall wiring.

also the wire distance from main street pole to your modem matters alot.if its below 300 meters,my experience tells your line has joints or poor quality or its too old to handle dsl.

if you have landline fone,attach it and check by calling on it,noise and distortion will be there...

if all above are okay.dn you proly need to bribe your lineman.

EDIT : your wan connection tells you are on copper network.depends on your area and city.

Well, boys... One month later and PTCL still managed to bamboozle me out of my internet I have had a complaint open for nearly three weeks now and this time I DID NOT CLOSE IT. Not until they fix my shit. HELP! I'm ready to go to the exchange, email pta or w/e. (I have emailed [email protected] 2 times! Still no help. The first time I got a reply that my internet was working fine and the second time was that my issue would get resolved in top priority.)

App wah cantt saay ho mein bhi wah cantt say hoon but i want to tell u one thing the undergound cables of our exchange is obsolete and therefore cant handle speed above 2mb but somewhere it supports 4mb and very little in 10mb other than that whatever u do they wont solve your issue i am also stuck with 4mb dsl cant upgrade to 10mb dsl due to limitations. They always says wait few months for fibre as we have already requested PTCL but now its been 6 months no fibre has been deployed yet.

Fortunately for me 10mb does work. My friend in my street has been running 10mb without any major issues (Minor disconnections here and there but that I can live with) for the past 4 months. My issue is that the dabbi that is on the pole outside my house where my line goes into is fucked. Giving me barely 1.5mb download speeds where I used to get 10mb just fine. It needs to be changed but as per the lineman, it will get changed w/e someone from the exchange sends a person to replace it. It's been over a month and It's getting annoying. Then I remembered there was another person in this forum who had his "Dabbi" changed on the pole by emailing PTCL. I'd like to know exactly what he wrote in the email and how many complaints he did and such. After this gets fixed I'm fairly certain my disconnection problem would go away as it always seems to come when it started to rain... The dabbi has no Cover. (Note: I'm not talking about the splitter dabbi for your phone and modem inside your house!)

I also have this disconnection problem. I looked at my router stats and it showed me that my SNR margin is 10.4, Should I also get my Dabbi changed, will this solve the disconnection issue ?

same situation here dabbi is the issue i also recently upgrade my dsl to 10mb but speed i was getting same 1.5mb my dabbi is completely fucked up so i will also complain for replacement.

Well, I've been told by the lineman that I would have to go submit an application at the ptcl's office. So do that and along with that upgrade to 10mb right now if you haven't and just start doing complaints and always press 2 when the call comes. You will have to be hard as a rock with these fucks alright. I'll probably go to the exchange this Monday myself.
