i live in clifton karachi. i called 1236 and the guy said transform package is not available. i then called my ptcl exchange direct number (searched it on google) and the guy said yes it is available. gave him my landline number and all set. new vdsl2 router installed after 2 days and package changed. was using 8mb connection, got 10mb transform package. torrent speed is 1.1 mb/s and internet download manager gives 1.3mb/s max. pretty satisfied so far (been a few hours only). and my disconnect issues happening since 2 weeks are not happening today after router and package change.

can anyone tell how to access the router settings? 192.168.1.1 does not work. 192.168.10.1 asks for username password. i tried many combinations such as "admin" and my actual wifi password, it's not giving me access to the router settings. my new router is Wireless N 300 vdsl2 model HG150-Ub

The password is written on the back of your router.

They're developing my area and net guy said that they'll lay fiber-optic from exchange to next main line, and from my home to exchange, copper will be updated.
Should I wait or jump?

Your line stats are not good at all, even if u upgrade now, you would face disconnections. So i would suggest u to wait...

So I have an old Kasda router from PTCL, the black router that I got from them when my D-Link 2750 got fried somehow. I purposefully flashed Openwrt on it and it kinda stopped working and would only act as a single wifi router and i was planning on giving it back to PTCL.Today I thought about experimenting with the firmwares on it and since I knew about the router that it had a Broadcom 6318 chipset so I looked around google and found out that D-Link 2750u also have the same chipset so I downloaded D-Link firmware and just flashed the damn thing. And voila, it works.The only weird thing is that the QSS light is blinking as a DSL light. I haven't connected it to PTCL line yet but will do that in the morning. I think if for any reason someone ends up with a bad firmware just telnet your router and find the chipset and then look for another alternative firmware for your chipset. I also tried the TP-Link firmware but it said it's a bad image because it had a .bin file extension. The D-Link firmware had an .img extension. Well if this works I might just have two routers in case one fails at any moment.

I asked someone in my exchange about transform packages. They said it depends on the area. If they think people in the area have the buying power and understanding of FTTH, they will look to deploy it, otherwise no. The guy said they have put in a request to convert the area I live in to FTTH. Apparently they have to request it. PTCL isn't really pushing this as much as they can.

So im getting vdsl in 1 or 2 days for my 20mbps transformed package, i wanna ask if anyone is already using it that how much upload speed do u get for 20mbps transformed package on vdsl? And also what are the charges for 50 mbps transformed package and the promised speeds for that package?

5Mbps upload speed on 20Mbps and 50Mbps charges are 4K..
