I was on ONU and my profile was 12MB and i was getting 25 to 27 SNR

Now cabinet near my house is changed to Huawei MSAG and my new profile is 13MB but i am only getting SNR from 13 to 15

Although is there is no discontinuation but i am not satisfied because i am getting a lot of buffering on HDTV

Exchange guy saying Huawei MSAG give low SNR compare to old ZTE and sould not be worried

There is option of migration to VDSL as well

below are my stats and speedtests

please comment

If I were you, I'd instantly jump at the chance of VDSL and eventually convince them to migrate to GPON.

If you get VDSL, take advantage and go for a higher package like 16 Mbps and you'll really appreciate it.

Once you get it, ask them to give you the HDMI android SmartTV box, I've got the same one and it never stops to buffer. I hope that's what you mean by HDTV.

Your stats are fine, I had a similar SNR on my 12 Mbps connection and it rarely had any issues. The occasional connection drop was there but most of the time it was stable.

do they charge for vdsl modem for upgrade

8mb is more than enough for me
HDTV means IPTV not PTCL one

i already had smart tv PTCL Android STB and there is no issue with that one

will VDSL impove PING ???

Don't remember if they charge, but I don't think they do. They'll upgrade your line, take your ADSL modem back, being the new VDSL one and that's all.

The difference in pings will barely be noticeable, if at all.
Maybe a 5-8 ms reduction, at best.

I don't know if it's because you have a new connection or not, but your SNR seems a bit low to be honest.
Also, if you're not on a 20 Mbps package, why is your line synced at 20?

Headroom for future upgrades. ADSL can't go higher than 20 Mbps, VDSL supports the 30 and 50 Mbps packages.

Yes its a new connection. What should be the ideal SNR for down and upstream ? . Profile is set to higher because i asked them to make it such , since i`ll be going to 20 mbs next month if this runs flawless .

SNR should be higher, at least 12 dB to avoid any connection issues in the future.

Yes, the connection is still garbage in the late evening and early night.

Not sure if the undersea cable issue is still at play, but the connection is definitely still not back to how it used to be.
This is correct. They just reduce the downstream rate at in the evening and restore it sometime in the morning.

And I am on a 20 MB connection.

Lahore - Anyone else seeing REALLY SLOW downloads? The internet is literally crawling right now.

Pings and SNR are completely unaffected, it's just the speed of the downloads is 10-50KB/s max.
