The guys over at ptcl dont even let you hate them properly. They will make you want to pull your hair out but all of sudden the internet will turn into the best ever and everything will be perfect. Repeat after 2 weeks. But after years of frustration I too am getting rid of PTCL in favor of nayatel but I had to download 1tb worth of data so Im sticking with it for a few weeks longer.

I am writing this post with extreme frustration and huge disappointment by PTCL after sale services.
Can someone please tell, what should be the exact Download and upload rate on 08MB connection nowadays. Since I have relocated to new area and installed a new connection in Architect Engineering Society Lahore, I believe the capping set on my 08MB connection is low for Download and Upload streaming as compared to my previous connection in old area.


Here is the screenshot of my current settings. I believe on 08MB uploading should be 1.5 MBps and Downloading should be 1MB/sec where as i am having 800KBps uploading and downloading is about 880 Kb/sec.

Please suggest any good ISP in Architech Society Lahore, I already have talked to FiberLink.net but they are still in a process of finalizing their expansion in various areas in Lahore and not sure as how long it will take to launch in my area. Also can anyone share their current stats on 08MB connection. Thanks.

YES. Absolute crap here as well. Been like this for the past hour, downloads are about 2-3 Mbps only, browsing is dead slow and YouTube struggles to load 360p.

Just came here to confirm that others are having issues with PTCL too. Islamabad here and it's extremely slow with massive packet drops.

Is anyone aware of the problem with ptcl? It takes an age for the fb page to load on an 8mb connection. Is it the underwater cables this time or their shit potato servers?

That would be their potato servers. Underwater cables are fine.

I use LTE whenever I need to browse Facebook cause it's a pain to use PTCL when it can't even load a 10 second video.

For anything other than Facebook however, it's perfectly fine.

Need some ptcl line specs b4 applying for the internet here... Not much internet options here for the bahria residents . I brought zong 4g and it works like shit here.
Kindly give me your opinion on the internet options here for Bahria Town too.

Here in Phase 1.

I have Fiber and it should be coming to you soon as well.

For now, apply for an 8 Mbps DSL connection and go to the exchange and make sure you tell them to give you a Fiber line.

The real Fiber however (not DSL) Is coming soon, you may have noticed the huge mess they've made by digging up the roads in Phase 3.
